Why can't I start the car and then lock it to warm it up/leave it running and secured as i run into the gas station?
Its secure if you have the key in your pocket. Why can't I start the car and then lock it to warm it up/leave it running and secured as i run into the gas station?

If someone gets in your car without the key and depresses the brake the car should shut off. They have to press the brake to put it in gear.
So nobody can steal his Twinkies , Doritos and Big Gulp ! oh wait thats what he went into the store for ..............No you just need to be a little less rude. Not sure why you want it locked nobody's going anywheres with it. Theres probably a good reason for it though.

no I've never tried it, I've been told that's how it works but....Are you sure about that? I've driven the car a little ways without the key being in it.
Why not just turn it off? You’ll conserve fuel and at least your car is still there waiting for you when you come back.
2 feet of snow and -20C is the reason some of need to keep our cars running while not inside.
That's a personal choice, not a need. Myself, I never leave it running, or use the remote start. The engine gets up to temp quickly, and with the heated seats and wheel it's the most comfortable car I've ever had in the winter.2 feet of snow and -20C is the reason some of need to keep our cars running while not inside.
