The Other Side of “It’s a KIA”?

Well making discision to live in middle of frozen tundra year round is a whole other discussion. I will pray for you

I love unique under appreciated cars. Fully loaded GT2 RWD sedan at $45 K was also a bargain. I hadn’t anticipated the poor

Canada is not frozen year round.
Not even in the Yukon/Northwest territories.
(I typed this whilst sitting in my igloo while cuddling with my 6 Huskies, for warmth).
Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to eating my whale blubber, before it gets cold.

I quit reacting to calitsting dude when he insisted some weeks ago that the Stinger wasn't a halo car for Kia. Absurd. He just enjoys getting a rise.
Don't feed the trolls.

Yep, and the genealogical fact is that almost everyone is descended from royalty. So big whoop. Just be amused.

African royalty perhaps ? I know someone who was studying Human Evolution at Uni and told me all humans ( first humans ) came from Africa.

We're all cousins. I've used the LDS site FamilySearch.org to trace myself back to Adam at least twice: this runs my line of grandfathers back to such interesting people as Wm the Conqueror and Harald Hardrada and Charlemagne and of course the inescapable kings of Troy, until ancient royalty joins the Bible, then WHOOSH! straight back to Adam and Eve. Funny thing is, it asks for their parents and it is a dead end. :D No "God" in the database. (No sense of humor, either. )
adam and eve.webp

Buyers shopping new 911's aren't cross shopping Stingers. If one has the means and desire to own a new 911, the Stinger will disappoint. Anything that isn't a 911 will disappoint. The new to Kia market that needs focus is what I mentioned in a earlier post. Going after Panamera buyers could make sense, 911 buyers have much different wants out of a car than any Kia (or most other cars for that matter) can deliver.

KIA needs to revamp the dealership experience but I fear that is more an issue for the dealer owners themselves. If it was agreed that to take things to another level, KIA would foot the bill for the loaner vehicles and have all the staff trained on improving the level of service, while giving special service to Cadenza, Stinger, Sorento (and Telluride) and K900 owners, they could pull it off. Alas, the way folks think, KIA will need to split the K900, Stinger, Telluride into a separate line (preferable with the "E" badge) for a "luxury" experience, then this will pull those folks looking for that experience over. Better yet, if they would make that experience the same for everyone, that would be new.

I've been to places that don't have fancy new digs that excel at service and places with the fancy shops that suck at it. It's all in the people and the leaders of those business that will make the changes necessary to improve.

You know, dealerships are different all over. My dealership gives me a loaner. If I prefer a ride somewhere instead of the loaner and then a ride back, they do that. My dealership has a person come to my car and open the door. They are upfront about everything. They didnt steer me towards any Stinger Trim or color. I mean, seriously, no complaints. Of course, I've never had a BMW, a Mercedes or an Audi, etc. But I dont need that kind of service. I'm just a regular guy who is happy if he gets good, friendly, upfront and respectful service.

I was told my dealership now has loaners, rather than relying entirely on the car rental shop next door, but I haven't had (and don't want to have) a chance to check this out. Some of the people working at the dealer also have been hired from upscale dealerships and haven't yet learned bad habits, so things seem to be looking up, knock wood.

Gotta start somewhere...... Toyota, honda, datsun/Nissan came around in the 70's with tiny little cars and got better .....extending to Luxury models in the late 80's and early 90's with Lexus, Acura and Infiniti.......now the evolution of Hyundai/Genesis/Kia is upon us and we need to be more open minded towards the growth of these particular manufacturers.....the phrase " it's a Kia" is just a lazy, snooty response ......rant over, peace

That's no 'rant'. You hit the nail on the head. I too remember when folks snickered at "a CAR from Honda?"; "a GOOD car from VW?". Kia/Hyundai has gained a lot of notice with their cars the last 1/2 decade - in styling alone. Now... the G70 - NA car of the year; Kia Kona - NA Utility of the year. The Stinger was an NA Car of the Year finalist last year; it snared car-of-the-year from many respected publications, and it's gotten a ton of love from the enthusiasts and the car press right out of the gate. It takes a LONG time to change brand-perception, but Hyundai/Kia has taken huge steps.

Got into it with a youtuber.....new car spin.....on his vid on the 19 440i gran coupe. ....I mentioned stinger and his response was HELL NO! Loose on the track......I said to him, MOST people watching these reviews aren't looking to track these cars......bigger, less expensive, better warranty and more power......but who in the world would want that? Color me stupid

Ask your Youtube friend to do some more research on the 4 series Gran Coupe vs. the Stinger. Sure, there are BMers that are better on the track (most at double+ the price), but the 4 Gran Coupe is NOT one of them. Most/all of the brand-snob Stinger 'haters' are either ignorant, or just plain stupid! :p
