The Other Side of “It’s a KIA”?

Parked my GT 2 at the mall and saw few people taking pictures of my car, this never happens with my Porsche they are quite common where I live. No one gives a s#$# if you drive Porsche but they seem to notice the Kia, very interesting.

Get used to it. You will also have people asking you about it at the gas stations.

Must depend on where you live. No one gives a rats arce around me. Not even other stinger drivers.

Bastards.

"Out in public", I had a handful come up to me in the first couple of months of ownership, but not in a while.

It did get a bit of attention at an autocross event this weekend, but that's amongst gearheads, so..

I think it depends on the Porsche, but yes, 99% of the ones you see no one pays attention to. If I saw a GT2 or GT3 parked, I would walk over and take a gander.

Level of interest in my car equals about one conversation a month, averaged out. Add in a few more thumbs up from drivers ogling next to me at traffic stops and it probably doubles in frequency. The latest was just two weeks ago: another Stinger driver dropped his driver's window to holler, "Nice car!" as I slowly passed on his left. And before that, c. a month ago a guy at the car wash engaged me in conversation about the Stinger in the parking lot.

Porsche have adhered to the same 911 (now retro) body design for so long that the cars are invisible to 99% of the drivers around them. Most of their other models look like everybody else.

Went to Epcot this weekend and had a couple come up to me in the parking lot when I got there and ask me about it, spent 10 min talking to them about it and all it's features probably could of spent 30 min just to cover and explain everything.

I know one couple when straight to the dealer after seeing mine.

As long as they go to the dealer I bought from they offer $100 per sale not much but hell if I can get a few of those to happen a month it pays for the car LOL

I love the fact I own a car that most don't even know exist. It turns head and blows a lot of cars to dust on the road. It feels like I am a KIA motor "look what we can do" banner boy.
Yes! People constantly ask about my car and it is so freaking fast!!!

I bought it because it reminded me of my Datsun 280Z 2+2. Then, Datsun was not a common car on the road in '77 and most Datsuns were economy cars. What an incredible car the 280Z 2+2 turned out to be, loved the extra back seats and hatchback cargo room. But I did like the HUD on my corvette, so better than best of both in a Stinger. Noticed a couple of night ago, a Kia Corp Ad where the were touting the quality of the Kia "Badge"

I constantly get looks and questions about it in parking lots or while filling up at gas stations. One guy in a tricked out Mazdaspeed 6, rolled down his window and took a picture while driving beside me in bumper-to-bumper traffic lol.

The local cops (I know most of them) where I work pulled me over the other day because my plate came back as a KIA.

Damn E badges

I'm surprised with how (overall) happy I am with the car. I traded my factory ordered Mustang GT with manual for this car and I worried I would be missing out on the things I liked in the Mustang. The AWD has been an absolute joy in the winter (but compared the Mustang, it's a no brainer). I'm surprised how enjoyable the car is to drive, the steering is pretty direct and feels good, and the car feels surprisingly nimble in the city for its heft. I do miss manual sometimes, but not as much as I thought, I guess some days it's nice to not have to wear out the clutch in stop and go traffic. Then there's the power, from a roll this car would not keep up with the Mustang, but from a dig, the Stinger is definitely quicker to 60 - stock to boot.

Once I get my quibbles resolved at the dealership, I think it'll be love...lol.

So in 30 miles of driving on Sunday afternoon I had 4 people try to figure out what my car was. 1 guy flat out walked up and asked,"WTF is this anyway?" Then an AMG SLK drove 2 miles on my driver's door in traffic to figure it out. At every light we caught the driver and his girl were completely turned around gawking. Then I slip out of traffic and onto the highway...OUT OF NOWHERE a scatpack Challenger faking the hellcat life comes flying up on my bumper at about 120, pulls up on my passenger door, nods and slips 3 lanes to take the next exit.

I frequently encounter Mustangs, Chargers and Challengers trying to beat me and always end up raping them... Why do they think they can beat me?... o_O:D

Because it's just a Kia bro!
