Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Hey guys.... ran an 11.995 last night at the track. Took me a run to get used to the BMS Switch (first run went into limp mode, not sure what I did wrong). Second run is when I got that time. Ran a 12.254 without the switch, so the switch is doing some work! Not sure how much lower my times are going to get until I put on some better tires (currently have all seasons).

Ran e30, BMS Switch plus all the mods in my signature line.

Nice! And your rolling on 20s? Do you know what the DA was?

Yep, rolling on 20s, which also isn’t helping. According to the website, DA was 571 @ 10pm, which is when I ran that time.

That DA isn’t terrible, but yeah, getting some smaller wheels will definitely help. And they are likely pretty heavy too.

This is making me feel good about my chances. I hope to join the club later this week!

were still around terry just too much work going on in the shop to mess with the stinger right now. we never really had any problem at all hooking the car up when it was running around 23-24psi but as soon as we started flirting with the higher boost levels it wasnt possible with the track prep we were dealing with during the hotter months here. Nobody really starts running fast until fall/winter when all the no prep and grudge racing starts when we can do a track rental with some really good prep. The car trapped 126-127 maybe 4 passes the same night but just blew the tires off so the times werent too great. We have run a bunch of times that would still hold the top spot but until the car is capable of hooking up and not freaking out to get into the 10's we really dont care. Hope all you guys out there racing are doing well and getting better results!
What did the final tuning solution look like?

@Terry@BMS .... I have a question, my apologies if it's a stupid one. Attached are 2 logs from the track on Friday night. In reviewing them I noticed in the "e85" column there was a value of 12 and 14. Is this value supposed to correspond to the mix I was running? I ask because I was very careful to measure my mix, 5 gallons of 93 octane and 2 gallons of e85 (there was roughly about .5 gallons of 93 octane already in the tank), which should equate to an e30 mix. Also, the e85 I used was from a 5 gallon Sunoco drum, so the e85 should be pure. Just wondering... Thanks!

The E85 reading isn't accurate yet unless you've installed a separate flex fuel sensor. We added some test virtual E85 sensor logic to the firmware but it hasn't been fully sorted yet.

Understood... Thanks!

Soooo...gonna need more practice with that fun launch lol. My best time on Map 5 last night was 12.363 @ 114.3, 1.906 60' ...which was with me launching somewhere around 4 PSI @ 2400 RPM. Not enough to get it done. End result: Mustang beat me by .1 T_T

I realized afterwards that I had maybe an extra 100lbs or so of weight in the car that I did not have with me on my previous runs, so I'm thinking that was probably what caused my trap speed to drop from my previous best of 115. DAs weren't as low as I hoped, but the IAT were still pretty decent.

Looking at the logs, I'm wondering if the timing and everything looks right for race fuel (260 GT Plus). Terry, do you mind taking a peek?

What was the DA?

" ~ " means approximately as I have been told.

Neither opens in the JB4 interface.

If you change the file name it wont load into the JB4 windows log viewer.
The timing gets just a little jiggy in a few spots especially in the 90 MPH range when you hit 19.5 PSI. But not terrible.
How does map 3 times compare to map 5?

Sorry, I tried to clean it up so you were just looking at the two runs. Try this one.

Looks fairly normal to me. IAT is up there, a larger IC might help further. Or better weather. :)
