Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Dragstrip is a bitch. We arn't going to see many 11s this year.
Not saying i didnt set a new record but shit.

The track is always trickier as you get fewer runs, weather isn't ideal, etc. And not all tracks are created equal. But be curious to see how your dragy slips vs. real slips look side by side.

I'm back. Dragy is definitely approximate but not that bad. More later but dragy is good at Trap, terrible at 60 foot. Slope was between -.2% and -.02% Not too bad.
I even did a dragy run on the way to the track.
Sooooooo
First run i over shot the LC timing and was a shit for me 1.990 60 foot and a 12.04 @ 117.7
Then I broke the record with a video at 11.92 @ 117.6 with a 1.86 60 foot. (on my sons iPhone who is busy playing video games) 2 hours of waiting later...
My camera crew went home and then I ran a 11.87 @ 116.71 with a 1.83 60 foot at 60 degrees. On the way to the track I did a dragy at a private track 45 degrees, 11.73* @ 119.58 (Dragy).
I think we can expect +.1 for track heat soak, and another .1 for every 20 degrees of temp.

Congrats! Those are good times. Your trap might be lower at the track compared to the street because there's more rolling resistance at a track due to it being stickier.

What do you mean by launch control timing?

11.87 isn't bad. We have a track day coming up in Famoso in May, likely 90F weather lol. I'll be racing one of our other cars but I've tasked an employee here with racing the Stinger. We'll be lucky for low 12s.

The bar has been set, congrats on the record.
What were the temps? 11s are def gonna be a struggle. Still month out here. Already seeing 40s and 50s. edit I see 60.

New record! Very nice sir!

That time puts a lot of cars on the trailer. Good runs, was hoping draggy was more accurate .

Dragy is very accurate. He said on Facebook: At the track one dragy was right on and the other two were about .05 slow.

It's not that accurate but pretty good on trap speed. I've also seen it a .1 fast, but not for me personally.

Dragy is accrutate if used at the track compared to to a track run at the track. Now a dragy run on winter time on a back road does not equal a track run.

This is fake news!!! Called the track it was registered to 2018 Mustang GT.

Lol I am joking let’s t update that list!! You are the top gunner! Everyone is coming for you this summer.

For Track Results:
1. Provide picture of track Slip. Try to provide a picture of the track slip by your car number if possible, this will ensure the track slip belongs to your car.
2. Video of track run. Its 2019 and everyone owns a smart phone. Have someone record you when you make your runs. If you break a record then this is the ultimate proof that no one can deny. This is what will make your run 100 percent validated. Of course make sure you record the time at the end. (Optional, Not Required but preferred)
3. List all performance mods, including tires, WMI, Nitrous, weight reduction, etc......

For Dragy Results:
1.Post the dragy slip/result. Your name should match your user name or real name to make sure you used it on your car.
2. If possible have someone record you, although not required but helpful. (Optional, Not required but preferred)
3. Be honest about the conditions you ran in, meaning temperatures. Winter time vs summer time. Dragy should be used more as a performance reference, rather than the ultimate 1/4 results.
4. List all of your performance mods.

Here are the top times as of March 19th, 2019.

@Tonkabob Congrats bro!!!!

You hold the number 1 spot on the track list and on Dragy.

You are the guy we are chasing at the moment. Would love to see some videos if you took some.

Dragy is very accurate. He said on Facebook: At the track one dragy was right on and the other two were about .05 slow.

I'm not sure the track method of timing is really any more accurate than dragy. But .1ths precision has always been about what to expect.

Here is the video for the 11.92
Vs an AMG. Seems like he stayed on it until 330 feet and saw the Kia tail lights and gave up.
Also ran against a new modified STI 13.66 and a new BMW M3 13.09.

My intake temps were 140 at the track and as low as 55 doing dragy runs. Thats the virtual racing magic and also why manufacturers times are hard to match.

Of course it is. I knew all along because all the performance cars I ever owned I have taken to the track and compared to the manufacturer time.

I also knew when I seen the dragy times on this forum and everyone going crazy that their car is that fast. I knew there was no way in hell that those dragy times were going to be attanaible at the track.

I am really impressed by your results, getting an 11 second pass at the track is no easy accomplishment. I know when we talked about it you said if you got 11.8 that would be amazing, and you did. The ecu tune is doing what it’s suppose to do.

I am sure if you get wmi, drag radials, revised tune, you can definetely hit the 11.5 mark or maybe even faster.

You have the fastest stinger right now. I know I won’t break your record yet lol but I just hope I at least make the list.
