Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

The most common issue is bog off the line due to trans/ oil being too cold. ECU pulls throttle. Leave your oil gauge up and make sure you are at 200. if it isn't touching 200 or a sliver below it will bog. If you are too cool use AH and that seems to give you a little more head room but still can bog.
My issues from the car jolting or jerking have come in between shifts at the track. I think it’s due to the Piggyback I have not the temperature being warm enough. Because it happened on all my runs and the car was warm/hot because I drove for 50 minutes to the track prior to hitting the runs.

I never had or felt traction loss on my AWD. I need to pay closer attention when I go to the track on April 14.

Its usually not an issue unless you wait like about an hour between arriving or between runs.
Some AWDs have the 18s square and others have 19s staggered. Some 19s are Michelin Sport 4 and others are Michelin Sport 4S. With the 18s you get the 130 lame speed cap vs 167 with the 19s.

I have a Base GT. Limited Edition Sunset Yellow. I had better luck with Yellows having the 19 wheels in my area. I wasn’t interested in the limiter. I actually have a second set of 19s and a second set of summer tires too.
 
I may have had the trans temp issue and attributed it to traction in the past, but the videos I’ve seen of my last two trac days is pointing to wheel spin. I made sure to be good and warm for a couple of the runs, but in LC, it was to no avail. I haven’t noticed any shift issues with the jb4, as when I finally get running down the track, it takes off and smoothly shifts.

Scrub.... I got the 19s staggered set up. They are in my garage collecting dust. Ill trade you for your 18s an a couple hundred bucks if you want.

That’s why I am so pissed about because of the speed cap. I didn’t know that prior to buying the car. It’s to late now the only option for me take off the 130 speed cap is ecu tune or lap 3 pro.
It only affects when I am roll racing on the highway. I raced a focus st and gapped him lol but I hit 130 and my pos Kia just slowed the hell down.

Let me think about because I use my 18 for the winter and for the summer I use my aftermarket 19

I will likely post some track times. Unsure If I will bother with before/after tune since I hope to have mine in hand before I end up at the track. Not sure on the whole "ECU learning" timing on tunes and whatnot. Maybe I can have the tune on before hand, do a few runs and get times, then pull it off completely and get the "stock" times. Might be more accurate that way than the other way around if there is a "learn" factor on tune full power and whatnot.
