Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

I dont have spare rims. I bought them to use with my wheels. Ill warm them up on the way to the track :D
Lol that will work as well.

Who else is planning on going other than myself, you and Rick?

I know Anthony will be in Italy and has work.

We could all be in the 11s if it weren't for the sucky LC :(
I’m working on something that will completely prevent traction control. I will offer no details because it’s a long shot. If it does work, it belongs to the community. Lol

Im praying with my semi slicks it gets some traction. i have boost set at -5 for fisrt gear and -3 for 2nd and i still go no where on these DWS06 tires.
Something else I've been playing around with that you should try... turn off your traction / stability and put it into sport mode like usual, but before you engage launch control, shift it to 2nd gear. The car WILL actually launch in 2nd and this greatly reduces wheel spin. You might have to leave '1st gear boost' at -2 or so as you'll still get spin when boost hits. I haven't been able to get a clean Dragy (I keep forgetting that this car doesn't shift automatically at redline anymore unless it's in D) but it's definitely faster and less dramatic for me to launch in 2nd.

The car doesnt revert back to 1st? So you are launching it your self right? Not actually using launch control?

@brancky3 So I checked the JB4 and seen the E85 gauge and picked to be on my main display. When I first put it it said 3 and as I drove it changed to 8. Do you know what the number means? Does it mean the total percentage of E85 on my gas?

That's correct. I believe it calculates at idle but it might take a little bit of time for it to calculate correctly if you just filled with e85. If you consistently use e85 I think it will give you a better idea of your percentage

I have never used E85 or put any on the car. I will for the first time when I hit the track. I am not sure how much to put in? Should the gauge say 30?

Regular gas can be up to 10% ethanol sometimes. If you have access to 93 octane I would put in 4 gallons of e85 then fill the rest with 93 (10 gallons or so).

What about if I just want like 1/4 tank for the track? Like 1 gallon of E85 and 3 gallons of 93?

I do 1 gallon E85 to 4 gallons 92 E0. That gives me roughly E15 at 94-95 octane. 1:3 might be fine but seems people start running out of fuel up around E30. (less energy in Ethanol) Most gas is E10 to start with so don't go too much on the E85. Plus the manual says E15 max so if I can get 94-95 octane without going over the recommendations all the better.

Interesting the manual says max E15, I remember terry recommending E30 mix to run map 3 or map 5. I am a bit unsure if I should put E85 on the car and if I should run map 3 or map 5.

Tons of people have been running E30 but ethanol is corrosive. If you can find E0 to mix with you get to drop the total E by 10% with the same octane.

I got you. I will try to mix an E30 mix. Don’t know how to calculate that lol. I know I will try to put 3 gallons on 93 octane which has already up to 10 percent ethanol and then add 1 gallon of E85. That should be E30 I think .

That would be E25 (1 gallon E85 / 4 gallons total). It's probably good though if your regular 93 is 10% E. I would also pump in the E first so you ensure it mixes, and try to drive at least 20 miles so you ensure the new gas makes it's way up to the engine before you switch to map 5
