Don’t confuse Kia with a dealer ;)
If youre talking to me I'm not , this is a simple call at the dealer level that they can resolve easily to keep the customer happy , If they want to challenge Kia Corp for some sort of compensation thats their business , I know the corp vs dealer POV very well having dealt with both to resolve a serious sunroof creaking and ticking issue on my GT , the dealer did the proper thing by by dealing with me and sorting out the internal costs etc with corp this was a $6000 issue ...................

I aware of this, but for whatever reason, that dealer chose to profit.

As for that particular part being warrantable, I don’t agree (in general)

If I break something, I don’t ever expect to be given it for free.

Your opinion is blatantly clear thru the thread..................some of us differ ..................I think we should get onto more pressing issues , when's Happy Hour ?

Your opinion is blatantly clear thru the thread

I always find it funny how comments like yours here are made. Yes, my opinion is blatantly clear, but in opposition to everyone else’s blatantly clear opinion also.

Agree 100 % so we dont have to keep saying things over and over clogging up the Forums , opinions are opinions , all is good

I’m only responding to people who constantly think they are entitled to something for free.

If it was broken doing something untoward (like removing it), I agree.

If it was broken doing something that there is a reasonable expectation it will survive (like washing the car), then I don't.

What it comes down to is how it broke.

How these threads generally start, and I’m not saying this is exactly how this particular incident occurred, because we can only depend on the honesty of an unknown individual on a forum.

Op breaks his door thingy. Tries to get a free replacement because I spent a lot of money on my car and I deserve it.

Gets a no.

Complains that the man is breaking his balls and distorts the facts to build his case.

I react because it’s a sturdy part. I’d guess there’s no other threads here about the same issue, of door thingy’s falling off.

It’s blatantly obvious to me what probably actually happened, also the op may not be aware of what he may have done to Cause the issue so his deception may be honest.

In the end, rationality rules. If it looks like a duck, it “most” likely is.

Should Kia bend over, sure, but they don’t have to.

WOW sorry for creating so much hostility with my post lol. Bottom line is it broke and that's unfortunate. If Kia decides not to fix it then I'll get over it and move on. Life is too short. It's being held on with 3M tape now and it seems to be pretty solid...we'll see. I don't feel I'm entitled to anything free. If I knew for a fact that something I did caused the part to fail then I fix it period. To say that I'm lying in this forum is incorrect and kind of a douchey thing to say. There's ZERO benefit to lie to the people in here. I use this forum, as I believe many do, to help each other. Me lying to the forum members isn't gonna get the part fixed so that was a stupid statement. I explained the situation from my perspective as it happened end of story. I've had a few days to get over it and I have. Lets all move on:)

It’s part of human nature at times to stretch the truth or elaborate on a story when someone feels they are getting an injustice. Not necessarily an accusation of flat out lying. Understand this point and don’t take it to heart.

I think he felt like a bunch of did .................I think you should try to understand his point ............not us trying to understand yours !

I understand his point entirely. The only problem is that that part is a well secured part with zero history of failure.

But that’s all I’ll say on this subject at this point.

Peace.

But calling him a liar is OK ? .................My $6000 sunroof fix must have sounded like more BS than his problem ...........but it was real and not a single member called me a liar .....................

But calling him a liar is OK

Ok, read all my post again, and point out where I directly called him a liar compared to the idea that people don’t necessarily say exactly what happened. That’s the point I was trying to convey. I even said in some of my post that this is not probably what happens, but I general idea for the situation.

I don’t know the op, and never will, but as we all know in life, people exaggerate the truth, and that’s all I was saying.

Is it ok to call him a liar, no, but it’s equally not ok to say he’s being truthful, even if he says he’s being. You don’t know him, I don’t either, he on,y knows what happened, and we have to at a level, trust someone’s word.
My opinion is solely based of the simplistic fact that that part is a tough piece that doesn’t just fall off on its own.

That’s what it’s en based on. If I gave the same story, I’d expect push back also being thats the simple pathway that logic moves in this case.

I’m also fully aware of people’s inherent biased against large corporations.

You were insinuating he was a liar, basically indirectly suggesting he was one. This is a pretty tightknit forum of mostly mature individuals that support one another rather than jump to negative conclusions about each other. I'm not sure what exactly you're running around trying to prove but you're wasting your time.
