Suspension Performance and How to Improve it!

Don't sell the Eibach kit short. Yes it lowers the car 1.5", but that is not enough to cramp your driving style.

Don't sell a lowering kit short? Is that a joke? Anyway, do you know if Eibach sells springs that lower the car less or not at all, Steve? I'm tired of mashing the nose into curbs and speed bumps that grind metal off the bottom of the car.

Ordered springs thanks to this thread. Slightly less dropped at 1.3" f, 1.2" r, I ordered the H&R springs. I'll provide feedback when I get them.

Haha I did not get the irony of that expression. Good catch. As for the H&K(H&R?) springs I looked into them but they're not dual rate. So I went with the Eibachs. Let me know how it goes hope all will be great.

Are you sure? The H&R Sport Springs are progressive like the Eiback Pro-Kit which is what you got right?
I'll post feedback in a few weeks when they arrive and get them installed!

You are correct I see they are progressive rate so you'll be very happy with that. I mixed them up with that coil over kit from SKorea. Anyway, I just went for a Sunday drive in the country on 2 lane roads with no traffic, much of it at 140 K or more and the Stinger was spectacular with the Eibachs. I'm very happy now. As long as you're really cooking the suspension is great. It's really around the city and under a hundred K that it's just too soft but maybe I can handle that.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Can you let us know how the camber wears?

Steve, I live in Toronto. Can you please confirm that you bought the Eibach "PRO-KIT" springs, and from which shop? And it sounds like you had your dealer install them, is that correct?

Finally, did you consider Eibach's PRO-PLUS kit, which includes new sway bars and bushings?

Thank you!

Pardon the delayed response Muh Stinger. I got the pro kit springs only. I don't see a need for sway bars or bushings as the car is flatter than any I've driven. Don't forget the CG is low, the geometry before lowering was already fantastic. So if the car isn't rolling, I'm good. I can say I took the car for a 3 hour tour (no Gilligan's Island jokes please) of Haliburton, mostly on two lane roads and really pushed it with great pleasure. My only problem with the suspension is the soft back end at low speeds in the city or on the highway around 100K. I was doing the two lanes at well over 140 in medium to sweeping turns and it's flat.
Oh yeah, the springs were installed by Scarboro Kia on Eglinton in Toronto. The Canadian distributer is Marcor Automotive in Burlington. Still waiting on specs to do the alignment. The alignment manufacturer needs to put them in a software update as the machine doesn't have manual inputs. WTF!

Thank you for the great info, Steve! I bought my Stinger at Scarboro Kia -- many props to Rob Woodward -- so I'm glad to know they've installed those springs before. Cheers.

I've had experience with RSR Downs on a couple Lexus vehicles and the ride quality was 95% stock with little pitch/bounce added, yet much flatter cornering. In short very happy with RSR.

I can't say the same for the H&R springs, which I posted in this dedicated thread here. On the positives, car corners even flatter now and initial absorption impact is good, barely a tad firmer than stock, but it's the car's motion that is not so great. The wobble/float over undulating roads is virtually gone but now the springs have added some "bus-ride" bounce to the car which didn't really exist before. It feels as though the wheelbase shrunk from 114" to 99"! It's a little worse below freezing temps and OK just above 0C these days, though I'm hopeful a smoother ride will prevail in warmer summer months.

Do the Eibachs exhibit this behavior? Have they made the suspension more temperature sensitive than stock, like the H&R springs have done?

I don't want to highjack this but if I go on @TuscaniCustoms Website, it says the Eibach's are only for the 3.3 AWD.
If i go on ebay it says, Stinger GT in general without an engine code or drivetrain.
For my understanding the 2.0 RWD is much lighter in the front compared to the 3.3 AWD, so the springs react differently, right?

I'm asking because in 1-2 month I recive my 2.0 RWD stinger and im really interrested it those Eibach's

Can be the case. I quickly went to eibachs website and compared some cars in their online configurator kit. A BMW 114 had a spring kit with a front axle weight allowance of 920 kg, an M135i had a set with 975 kg, and the awd M135xi had springs with over a ton allowed on the front, so they differ.

Addendum: This german page here Eibach Schweiz - Kia Stinger GT AWD - Herausragende Kombination aus Leistung und Stil, mehr als nur ein Traum. also mentions the smaller engine, product number E10-46-035-03-22. Those are the Pro Kit one (not the Sport Kit). Asfaik, the pro's are there to retain a certain comfort etc, and not to turn it into a hard track sheet like the sport.

I would go straight to Eibach's website and, if still not sure, call them directly. Get the right part number to start shopping price with.

They will be different given the big weight difference.

Hi All. I finally made my decision and it was a good one. I'm so happy my eyes are watering. My Polar White Stinger has a set of Eibach's on it and the ride and handling are near perfect! Because I'm familiar with the law of diminishing returns, I'm happy and I don't see a need to go with shocks later. Pictures attached. The car rides much nicer over the tar strips and is much stiffer over the g bumps, with 90% of the excess motion in the rear being eliminated. I can live with that because I'm 56. But if I was 29 I'd probably still mod the shocks 'cause I'd be pushing the limits. Now I just drive fast, with some common sense dialled in. So ALL GOOD. Check out the pics!

FYI, the springs are dual rate. The first ~1" of travel is a lower rate than stock (softer) and the rest of the travel is a higher rate than stock (stiffer). Thank you Eibach!
fills up those wheel wells appropriately! How far in are the wheels sitting from the edge of the fender?

Rear end bottoming out ? Well at least that's what it felt like. Took it out yesterday Sunday the sun finally decided to come out after about two weeks of rain, anyway went on some back country roads to have some fun , somewhere before I started getting after it and driving normal twice the rear end felt like it bottomed out . I didn't hit any potholes that you could lose a VW bug in , i'll have to go back and retrace my route see if I could get it to do it again. I hadn't thought about it at the time but the road that I was on was perfect for a test drive smooth surface rough surface patchy service. At no time when I was getting after it and pushing it did I have that problem again it was just at normal speed. It was a lot of fun enjoy the hell out of it the only thing I feel that you have to remember Is the weight . If this persists it'll be back to the dealer and WTF, if this is the nature of the beast I believe the resale just went to zero . GT2 AWD
