Sunset Yellow Limited Edition Stinger GT

Edit: Confirmed, I see an AWD GT2 in Muncie, Indiana.

I'm picking this one up tomorrow!! Cant wait to finally put my hands on it! Kia of Muncie was AWESOME to work with. Had theirs at sticker, and they honored my military discount plus a little extra because the appreciate us men and women in uniform. I wouldve been out the door under sticker, but I decided to roll ~$2k from my trade into the financing and keep more money in my pocket for renovations to our pool and outside area this year.

I have wanted the Stinger in Sunset Yellow GT2 AWD trim since it was announced, and I finally have it!!! I'll drive this car til the wheels fall off. :D:D

the 3 dealerships that are around me, each of their limited yellow stingers were different. the one we bought is a gt. the other 2 are gt1 and a gt2. guess its whatever the dealership orders. as for the markup, i had, years ago, purchased a chromium yellow z06, which at the time, was a rare color. i think that there were only 2 in the 5 boroughs of ny. i paid 5 grand over the asking price and ended up selling it for 9 grand over that price. so, the fact that there are only 400..... as long as the stingers get sold in general, bumps up their uniqueness. case in point, gt 350's in all their iterations, all camaro ss's and their iterations, vettes, porsches, etc etc etc. hell, even the vw beetle when it came out, was offered in baby blue, school bus yellow and some other weird color. the school bus yellow was dropped as a color and it is seriously sought after to this day. i had several volvo R's, 850 and the s60, both wagon and sedans. and i can tell you, get a volvo fan and tell them you have the pale blue s60r or the pale yellow 850r and they will sell body parts for those cars. just my 2 cents worth.

I'm in Denver for a few days and I'm seeing yellow Camaros every few minutes. It's kind of helping me get over missing out on that yellow gt2. If I could get a red gt1 with red interior I'd feel much better, but kia just hates fun :p

Weareblondi: first I'm heating of a yellow gt1, are you sure?

here is the mrs yellow stinger gt limited with tints, including the tinted headlights.

pick up my yellow GT2 tomorrow as I bought it today and paid 6k lower than market value markup and that was four K less than sticker price. Made a great deal. Will have pictures tomorrow....they all have the same look but I will try to put the car in some interesting shots.

Damn congrats. I offered my dealer 2k under msrp for a yellow gt2 and they wouldn't budge an inch. If I could have gotten 4k I'd have that sunroof and auto-liftback right now. Still no idea how one dealership ended up with 3 sunset yellows.

After lease then buyout...my Yellow GT2 was $41.3K before TTL...$48.4K out the door. Tax and Title are steep in AZ.

The theory is they are part of a conglomerate group (bigger ripoff area), and they pooled all of the yellows that their various stealerships got into the main, busiest one. That's the only logical explanation since Kia only gave 1 to every other dealer, and they even determined where the AWD vs RWD distribution was.

Like I said it's just the theory so take it with a grain of salt. I know we were all just happy to get the yellow, which is still the best color but maybe I'm biased....:whistle:

.. or perhaps traded with other dealers that didn't feel the yellow would be a draw for their typical customer base?

from what my dealer had told me, the yellow stingers were offered to the dealerships with the most traffic, then to whichever dealership wanted to pay for them. and i think they were only allotted one yellow stinger. but, certain dealerships that have multiple locations, got more, since they are all seperate locations.

As far as I know there are no Yellow GT1's in America, just Base GT and GT2. Although I believe the Base GT in RWD does come with the limited slip differential from the GT2, which is a nice upgrade.

I see a lot about the Yellow Stinger GT being RWD but I just bought a Yellow Stinger with AWG.

There are four configurations of the limited Sunset Yellow:
GT RWD
GT AWD
GT2 RWD
GT2 AWD
Currently we have no idea what percentage each are made it. it could be an even 100 each for the total of 400, it might not. I can tell you in the D.C. area I saw one RWD GT which I bought, and one RWD GT2, and the rest have been AWD, but that could be based on demand in this area. Quite possible they sent more of the RWD's to more dry and warm climates.

Using cars.com as a reference, the RWD GT2 seems to be least common, followed by GT2 AWD and then lots of GT in both.

I'd love to know an actual breakdown at some point.

Thanks for info. I’m glad we have AWD because it snows a lot in PA. There calling for 3 to 6 for tomorrow. . I bought the car for my wife ( one way to get a performance car for me ) and she will from time to time get caught in a snow fall. She don’t drive that much though.
