Stinger JB4 Pure Hybrid Turbo Testing

Lap3 made 10whp more with their ECU than their previous "record" with their piggyback . Oh, and their ECU is running 21psi, WMI, primary cat deletes... Pretty sure Terry made 470whp? with fully stock exhaust, ~17-18psi, and WMI. They're not a good example of why moving to an ECU over a piggyback is a good idea. I'll be more impressed when you can come close to Terry's trap speed

Honestly I haven't been paying much attention to them lately but I believe they posted ~490whp with flash tuning and full bolt ons at ~21psi. We've made ~460whp JB4+intake only at ~18psi. When time permits we'll get back on the dyno as I think we've got another 10whp in it with no other changes. With exhaust changes, I'm sure there would be a little more also. But we've never been about making the most power. Just making really good power in an easy to install and use tuning package.

They are also testing on their own dyno so until their customers are making it on 3rd party dynos, who really knows. As far as I know no lap3 customer ever matched their previous 480whp "record" dyno. That's why we always rent the independent dyno at Specialty-Z. It's widely used by many tuners around here.

their making great improvements .... I can’t wait till they get it right .... I beleive before we know it we will se great results I just hope is affordable to us peasents lol

I'm super excited to see what's in store with the ECU modifications. I really hope it translates to a back end flash option for JB4 users in the near(ish) future
 
I doubt it had any benefit to where a turbo upgrade is headed.

Think about comes available with the backend flash and tweaking the Flash on the fly... puuuure-fection

Ill never understand why they dont get what were trying to do. And whats funny is that the car is going to get flashed. Which proves one of his points. We always knew we were going to hit a limit that we couldn’t piggy back around and a tune was needed. So here we are.

I agree you are doing the right thing and I know your hard work will pay off ... Don’t listen to all the noise keep working at it .... keep us updated on progress especially on tcu side for the upgrade valve body and torque converter .... When Tork said that they had a supplier offer them a product like the JB4 for 199 and he decided to pass on it lol like it’s that easy .... I was done .... but are you currently working on the torque converter upgrade ??
 
Im just glad that there’s a bunch of people and companies supporting me/us in all this crazy crap. Definitions, hardware, diagrams, CAD, you name it. Even people from different countries linking together to make it happen. This is gonna be a crazy year and this summer.....wow. Cant wait

Yea, torque converter and the valve body. Trying to prioritize what to do. Right now im just developing other stuff while i get one piece of hardware to start the tune. Tomorrow i get to call the trans shop and figure out what to do. I think were trying the converter first and beat on it on map 5 to see what happens. They tell me that the valve body will be great with no issues but you never know. Then wait till the clutches burn up and upgrade them last lol

I agree I do but only when Tork gets in it otherwise it’s no fun ..... the moderators erase all the fun stuff lol .... In my time of dealing with a lot of shops and modifying cars I never seen anything like Tork .... but hey stay tuned to this thread crewdog is up to something big .... I mean you that torque converter could be a huge improvement on 1/4 times ...

Absolutely. A higher RPM launch would do wonders assuming the car is able to get traction from said launch. If we could launch at ~3500 and actually hook up I wouldn't doubt a 1.7x 60ft would be easily attainable.

Well clutch holding might be abated by using TCU tuning capabilities to increase line pressure. I mean if you are doing the VB and stall, you are going to need to tune the TCU in order to get the stall lockup characteristic you want to not burn up the converter. I am right with you on this man. If we can tune to let LC RPM match new 3K rpm stall converter + flash stall, with full throttle/no TM at LC...massive 60' drop coming.....and maybe some broken shafts! I'm in for all brother!

I definitely agree with you when you said you knew your stuff and I did not. Sorry we got off on the wrong foot a few months ago. Next time I dont know what im talking about just quote this for me :D lol.
