Stinger GT 3.3TT mods begin

Hey guys we had the Stinger on dyno this morning. Very happy. We picked up 11rwkw from 240 with a cat back to 251rwkw. Afrs are still low 11s so safe as. Looking forward to some more gains soon. The down pipes will be the next to get some attention

Nice work! Onward and upward! I think the downpipes will make an impressive difference. We've seen how restrictive the exhaust is.

It's nice to see progress. Definitely keep us posted.

I literally have essentially bachelor's of science introductory physics course understanding of air dynamics and flow, but those kinks look pretty sharp for the intake.

Couldn't you just make one that points slightly diagonally up with the filter sitting right on top? (could be risky if someone was modding and something fell in though)
Or a simple 90 degrees kink facing sideways (like the stock Stinger's position)?

Please correct me if I'm missing something, love to learn more.

We have also been tinkering with our new shop Stinger here is a dyno chart of before and after muffler deletes.

View attachment 1092 View attachment 1093 Hey everyone. Ok so we have gone through our running in procedure and clocked up over 1000km. Before we begin designing and building our performance parts we did some baseline power and afr measurements on the dyno. We saw 233rwkw and quite safe afr targets of around 11.5:1 dropping into the 10s at top of rev range on 12psi. I think this will lean out a tad when we fit our intake system. Hopefully by the end of week we will have our intake kit and dual 3" cat back exhaust finalised. A uncle chip is on its way until my software guru has cracked the ecu for full reflash capabilities. Will keep you all updated with progress with lots of pics along the way. We are really excited at the potential of this vehicle. It is an amazing car to drive. Hope everyone is enjoying theirs just as much

Kind regards Jon
Please let us know when you come up with a good chip for the 3.3. I’d love to drop one in my baby:-)

Hey guys. So sorry for the lack of updates. Ok so since we last posted we have been rather busy with our project Stinger. I think we have found the limits of the torque tables in the factory ecu tune. Since the intakes we have fitted a Lap3 map chip which gave us 3psi more and also developed our stage 1 entry level intercooler upgrade. Total power is now at 293rwkw up from the stock 233rwkw. This has been achieved with our cat back exhaust, air intake kit, stage 1 intercooler upgrade and a Lap3 map chip. What we are now finding is a slight miss under full load which we have narrowed down to the ecu clipping torque to remain within the torque tables. Thought it may have been plug gap to begin with and we dropped the gaps to .7mm but the miss remained.

Still we took the Stinger to the drags to see what it could do. First pass we took pretty easy and backed off at the 1000ft mark. It went 12.5@100mph with a lazy 2sec 60ft. Thought we would try a full pass even though the ecu is doing a soft cut to torque. It went a lazy 12.3 @114mph. I think this will be the limit of the factory tune. The ecu is just not letting it make anymore power. We should have the full ecu edit worked out very soon which will drop us into the 11s. Then we can do our down pipes and 100cell cats and stage 2 cooler upgrade with some e85 should see us into the 10sec zone......transmission permitting lol. Heres some pics anyway :)20171207_221701.webp 20171207_182739.webp 20171207_180522.webp 20171211_191016.webp

With the added 3psi boost is the upgraded intercooler required?

Well dont know bout you guys over there but with temps here around 40degC in summer i think it is necessary. We picked up some good power along with another 2psi boost from it. It was the last mod that brought us to the limit of factory torque tables so be interesting to see what it takes power to once we have edited the tables :)

Excellent updates, did you change the intercooler piping also. If so, kindly post pics!

Hey @Jonnytig, when will your intake be ready for purchase?

Because I'm ready to buy an intake.........

Hey guys. My apologies for the lack of updates. Has been really busy in the shop around Christmas and New Years. We are finalising everything atm and should have a tune sorted in next week or two. Yup Terra we are now. The intake kit will be $770 including ductwork at front. The stage 1 cooler upgrade is $1895. Soon as the tune is sorted will let you know the results :)

Nope that's Aud. So less 10% as no gst. Plus freight which we ate currently working on to get best deal. The cooler kit comes with new hot side y pipe and 2.5" hot piping with 3" cold piping. All silicones and clamps with a lightweight cooler featuring a European tube n fin core. These coolers are about half to 1/3 the weight of bar n plate and feature much much faster thermal transfer rates and recovery times :)
Is that USD pricing? Or AUS? Also whats included with the stage 1 intercooler?
