Stinger build page is active

I really hope that's the case, considering that as an option, the LSD is only available for the GT model in the yellow color. That makes absolutely no sense. And why would it be offered in the GT model, but not the GT1.
Though they were explicit here:

I should have noticed this thread before I started my own, but I believe it's because they're planning 400 special editions of the base GT that include the LSD and Drive Wise with Sunset Yellow paint. I don't know why. You'd think the yellow and lsd go together because crazy people who like performance might be inclined for snazzy colors and an LSD, and want a fast car without the expense of higher trims, but wouldn't those people largely be less likely to want to pay for a bunch of nanny driving assists?

I fall somewhere in the middle because I want that fast yellow lsd-havin' car but I'd also like a sunroof.

You trippin'! Too much LSD in this statement! :p

I worry that this could actually be it because they've modded the US spec so much that perhaps the choices really are that limited at the moment. I don't know, I've never seen such oddities. I mean Kia is Hyundai right. They've been around for a while so I wouldn't expect such an amateur-ish rollout like this.

However, I notice that the the GT1 (in Black exterior only) actually offers 2 colors for the interior (black and red) so we know the system is capable of showing multiple interior color options. They're just not showing any for any other configuration.

We can only hope that maybe they're just slowly loading the available configurations into the system.
We can hope that, but I feel they've had ample time to load the configurations. I think this is just actually what they came up with. I'm starting to think that Kia isn't ready to sell this type of car, at least not in the US. Everything has been so backwards. I also think maybe we have limited options because specialized (de-contented) available in the US.

Agree, unless their IT department is run like their marketing department, the web site shows what they want it to show. No one loads partial items into a web page. All of what they added was added to a non public site, tested and vetted and what not and then rolled in to the public facing site.

Just chatted with kia.com live chat. Here is what she said about the ASCC not on the Drive Wise package.

"I'll need to have a team member look into this for you and follow up. The build option was just added today and there may be an error. I also see that the feature is optional on all trims, but was only able to see it on the GT2 when I'm building the vehicle."

She said someone is going to contact me soon

Has anyone been able to get the "payment calculator" on the site to work? It just tells me "there was an error"

Just contacted my local dealer here in Des Moines to get an update as to the status of the Stingers hitting their dealership and was told they're hearing February which IMO is absolutely ridiculous since the build option is now up and running. They have also been telling me December over the past couple months as I've called for updates every 2 weeks or so and have never been given information that I didn't already know.

The fact that their expected arrival date has been pushed back 2 months from what they've been telling me has made me reach out to dealerships in neighboring states to try and get it sooner. Every dealship I called except one the salesperson had to put me on hold while they asked about the arrival date which doesn't make me very confident in the information they were giving me.

Basically Omaha is expecting end of December to January.. The Kansas City, MO dealership I called didn't have to put me on hold, but said they were expecting arrival for those who put a deposit down in early December to early January and for those that didn't February. It makes me quite upset this wasn't an option for me at my local dealership and the fact they still seem to know nothing. Then lastly I called Raymond Kia in Illinois and was told they are expecting arrival in a couple weeks and the salesperson took my name and number to contact me when they arrive although I had to tell her to hold up as I'm not looking for just any Stinger that arrives as I want the 3.3 AWD. There's obviously more that I want, but I don't want to limit my options too much..

Wow, I go one day w/o checking their website first thing in the morning for the build, and step away from the Forum for a few hours, and all heck breaks loose!

Now if only they had inventory.

I couldn't even get an error message.

No error message for me, just shows an intemized cost of all the extras I added.

Just talked to the sales manager at the dealer I've had the best responses from. He said their Stingers are expected in one to two weeks. This is in Los Angeles County.

I don't know if I mentioned this in an earlier thread, but corporate customer service told me last week that if I couldn't find the color and features I wanted at a local dealer or on an internet search, to call the customer service line and they would locate one for me. Since my needs are simple (GT2, no options available, common color combo), I hope I don't need to, but for those of you at the trim levels that have options, this might help.

Just curious, what color combo? I guess they've made finding the colors you want easy since you only get one choice lol.

Are the color combinations correct? You can't get red paint with the red seats? That would have been my choice. Then the only interior color for silver is red?

That's how they did it on their website..Im sure they will make some adjustments, cause some of the stuff doesn't make sense.

Does anyone know the difference in look of the 18"Alloy Wheeels, GT Style vs the 19" version?

The one highlight here (at least the only one I noticed) is that Panthera Metal made it into the configuration albeit in an extremely limited fashion.
Perhaps it can at least make its way into the other GT models. Still no sign of Deep Chroma Blue though which is still massively disappointing, but not unexpected.

There is one thing that you guys think KIA is Korean car, but in fact it's not Korean. Let me tell you the truth. Behind KIA company is some damn German company. They use Korean country to make a name for a new car industry. The way they play this game on Stinger is exactly they used to play on CLA45. No wonder Kia lets German Engineers take over designing this car.

Sounds like a great conspiracy theory without a source. Publicly available information contradicts it.

So you're saying the big scam is that we're getting a completely German car but with a 10 year warranty and really low maintenance costs?

Yeah, I'm good with that.

Really disappointed on the interior color options for the Gt2. Plus they really couldn't include the cargo mat on a 52,400 car...really? At this point the car is 5k shy from the Audi s4 build I made. I could care less for the safety features your forced with on the gt2. I just wanted cooled seats and hud. Now I'm going to rethink this.
