Stinger build page is active

Yes, but some systems are better than others. Some will only work down to a certain speed, others will stop the car for you in traffic and start it again when traffic moves. Etc...

Do we know what the Stinger has? I assumed stop & go adaptive cruise, which is mandatory for my next car, so please break it to me gently.

Yep, stop and go!

Wow that's great! I just learned something. Adaptive cruise control doesn't stop and go but smart cruise control does. And the Stinger has smart cruise control! That's great. This will be so nice in traffic! Man I love technology!

It deactivates after being stopped for 3 seconds.

So it's good in traffic but not REALLY BAD traffic.

Why do you say that?

It will pause after coming to a stop for 3 secs, but once traffic gets going, you can tap on the gas or push the toggle on the steering wheel and it starts back up again to the previous setting. You don't have to set it up again. I think It'll be fine in any traffic.

That sounds absolutely perfect to me!

Subaru's EyeSight system does the same (after 3 secs the cruise goes into standby, but a tap of the gas or a flick of the "resume" switch gets the car going again). Having driven my Outback since 2015, I assumed *all* adaptive cruise control systems did this, but for some dumb reason, Toyota only offers this on 3 of it's cars (Camry, Prius, and C-HR) - SO DUMB! Not available on the Highlander, or their top sedan, the Avalon! I can't speak to other brands, but one of the requirements (so far as I know) is that the car must have an electronic parking brake (EPB) to hold the car at a stop in stop and go traffic (for instance, in the Subaru Impreza, which doesn't have an EPB, will bring the car to 0 mph, but after a few seconds, you have to put your foot on the brake - same with Forester).

I think the reason it's missing from most Toyotas is the Camry, Prius and C-HR are the newest vehicles. They have the latest technology updates. The Avalon, while their flagship, is still using older technology. The same probably goes for those other vehicles. I think they'll all catch up to one another and all cars will have the same, most-sensible features within a generation...

Yeah that's really dumb about the EPB, luckily almost all of the Stingers have EPB as standard and it's included in the drive wise package probably for that reason.
