Stinger Brake Pads Replacement

try bedding them in again. Squealing brakes doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. race car brakes squeal like a MFer

Quick Question for those that installed the Redstuff brakes. Are they Brembo replacements? What is the part number for the brakes you installed? I just ordered some, but then saw on the EBC parts finder that they don't list a Redstuff option for the Brembo's. I want to double check my order before they ship!

Just installed Yellowstuffs all the way around on my car, along with new rotors. the brakes feel so much better now, and no squeaking/metal on metal sound to boot!

At 59,900'ish kms I had my 4th free replacement warranty rotors (all 4) installed by Kia. (pulsation again).

Same day - I installed Centric pads all around. (from Rock Auto)
It has been about 3000 kms so far - and everything is perfectly smooth, and silent, and similar to OEM friction performance for commuting. Pehaps these Centric pads would be bad at a racetrack - but this is my commuting car :)

Centric 105.10010 - front (generic -with no extra weights)
Centric 105.60410 - rear (vehicle specific - with weights) Does anyone know of a Centric pad part number (generic) that fits the rear?

I put in the "shim2" with new Bosch pads, but after seeing the really uneven pad wear I'm going to take it out. I think its put there to help with pad noise (squeal). It acts a like a "toe in" causing the trailing edge of the pad to contact the rotor first. I also noticed some kind of double sided sticky pad on the outer pads where they meet the caliper piston.

I put on Centric Premium rotors and Bosch BC1001 Quietcast ceramic pads and Stoptech steel lines, so far after bedding them they are smooth and quiet.

Question......the dealer replaced your rotors for free?? I have a 2019 Stinger GT RWD and 23k miles and getting pulsations when braking, think its the front. Didnt think brakes were covered under warranty

Looks like I am in need of brake pads, they are currently sitting at 2mm. I like other have had vibration issues twice already and both time they replaced the rotors for free because of "warped" rotors. So I will get the rotors machined but I want to purchase non-oem pads because of the ridiculous price and future vibration issues. I have read this thread and many others and still having a hard time figuring out what would be best for me.

I do not do track. I can at times be aggressive on the road but not much. I want something close to the OEM performance. I'm thinking of deciding between the following:

Posi-Quiet - 105.21440 (rear) and 105.21450 (front). From what I gathered they are quiet, very low dust and no vibrations. But how is performance compared to OEM? I can't seem to find that out and worried that it will much lower performance.

EBC Red stuff: From what I can gather this should be comparable performance, quiet but more dust than oem. Is this correct?

Those using the posi-quiet, how do you feel the performance is compared to OEM?

Centric / Posi quiet are the same company. Posi Quiet

For performance - the friction coefficients (both cold and hot) are usually stamped right on the pads (edge code).

The OEM pads on the stinger are FG (both front and rear)
The Centric pads I installed are FF (both front and rear) - so slightly MORE pedal effort would be required for these aftermarket pads VS oem - when hot.

The first letter of the code represents the normal friction coefficient. This is defined as the average of four test data points measured at 200, 250, 300 and 400 degrees Farenheit.

The second letter is the hot friction coefficient is defined as the average of 10 data points located at 400 and 300F. On the first recovery cycle of the pad; 450, 500, 550, 600 and 650F. On the second fade cycle; and 500, 400, and 300F on the second recovery cycle.

Each code letter are as follows:
C = less than 0.15
D= 0.15 to 0.25
E= 0.25 to 0.35
F= 0.35 to 0.45
G= 0.45 to 0.55
H= over 0.55

Thanks for that. I would have gone with them but unfortunately it looks like they are out of stock everywhere. Even manufacturer won't have any until Sept.
I think I may have to go with EBC Redstuff, hopefully the dust is not too bad.

Wow, everyone seems to be out of stock on brake pads that fit a Stinger. Most are saying 2-3 months before they get more and I need them much sooner. If anyone knows a vendor that has any in stock, stoptech or EBC or another comaprable pads, please let me know.

Where are you located?
If in the USA you might be able to get them shipped in from Canada... (don't forget exchange rate if price shopping - 1USD = .78CAD approx)

I'm in Brampton. Tried a few Canadian places. Did call Raptor Racing, a little more expensive, they don't have any in right now but they said that I should get the EBC Redstuff in mid-next week to two weeks. I am a little dubious that they can get it in but other say 2-3 months for both EBC and Stoptech. Supposedly Stoptech themselves are out of stock. I did put the order in but I am still looking to see if I can find them in stock somewhere else. I can't afford to wait 2-3 months.

I can't find any info on these specific pads even from the DBA site. Every site I find that sells it doesn't have any description on them. What are they made of and are they quiet and low dust?

Akebono ASP1001
Bosch Quietcast Ceramic. BC1001

Yes they work, I have used both sets.

I have the Bosch in right now and really like them, good initial bite, low dust and so far no fade.
