Twenty years of tuning... Never have I taken something off and put it back in the box when it is engineered for the car. Never. I can pull and engine, change a clutch, and manually tune via stand back....
I've worked hand in hand with designers and engineers to figure out how to make parts that fit and make install a breeze.

This intake just isn't well thought out. I'd redesign and use a slightly smaller diameter to be able to make the turn to the filter faster. I'd also add the bend back towards the turbo with metal, not silicone. And the shields need to be redesigned also. Use a material that is thicker and holds it's shape better... Then permanently attach the ends closest to the firewall.

I'm done ranting and over it.

@DiabloStinger I feel your pain. I haven't tried to install it yet but I did paint the tubes as soon as I unboxed it. I wish I had waited until someone reviewed it. Now I'm stuck with it since I've modified it. And based on what I've seen from Stillen so far I won't hold my breath for them to make this right.

@DiabloStinger this is no bueno. I am definitely not doubting your capabilities. What’s your next step? I still have mine in the box. I read the instructions and instantly knew I wasn’t going to attempt an install. I planned on having a shop do it. I don’t trust my capabilities and no way I can install it if you can’t. Debating if I should even have a shop attempt it or if I should return it and wait for other options.

I have spent more time than I'd like to admit getting a pre-formed Perrin silicone intercooler coupler to fit just right on my last Subaru so it's not like everything always lines up the first time.

I texted two customers who have already received theirs
Both have installed their intakes
One did complain about ease of install and from start to finish took him about 2 hours
The other said everything was fine but both said they are loving it

I know you're pretty frustrated with your purchase BUT itll really help the community if you can explain and even take some photos for everyone

My car currently sits on Falken AZENIS FK510 245/275 rubber fyi.
First red light, my rears slightly spun. Wasn't expecting that.
Turning right on to a service road to get to highway. Slight oversteer on turn. Wife didn't care for that but I call that fun.

+18WHP/+21WTQ to the wheels are advertised - I know everyone's a skeptic with the dynos but my butt dyno feels a bigger response when in the 4 to 5k rev range.
My car is acting more squirrelly and sounds like a racer boy which improves the fun factor.
I'm eager to hear others driving experiences with these installed, this all could be me pushing the car harder than normal or a little both. Either way, I'm still happy with the purchase despite the shitty instructions.

Where do I begin? The drivers side connection to the filter. There is not enough flat area to properly clamp it to the piping. I posted an image a couple pages back.

The height of the filters are different by almost 1.5 inches from passenger to driver's side. Not only is this visually unappealing, it makes the shield rub on the front suspension bar and on the radiator hoses.

The heat shields themselves are less than desirable from fit to design. Very difficult to fasten to the front of the car and almost impossible to get the bottom of the shield to pair with the top to close the gap between the two. Cleaning the filters would be an exercise in futility. I know you could leave them off, but then you get to see the driver's side filter peeking above that bar. Not something I want to see.

Even the passenger side requires a difficult manuevering of the three components to allow them to stay connected and not interfere with the intercooler piping. After I was successful in mounting that side, I installed the shield top only to find that the filter clamp interfered with the curved opening on the shield. The filter was too far into the fender. I literally shoved piping as far as humanly possible on both ends and yet it still wasn't in the proper location. Best practices say you shouldn't insert more than 3/4" into the silicone adaptor. I was BURIED in there.

The drivers side was more difficult to arrange. The angle you must use to ensure the piping stays active in the adaptor forces the end of the pipe higher, thus the filter is higher. When fitted so that it connected with the mounting location at the end of the filter it was hard against the radiator hoses. I measured the spacing between the end of each filter and the fender in each side. The drivers side was 3/4" further from the fender wall. It actually allowed the shield to sit normally in the space surprisingly.

Jonathan here said it was a 4 hour install. Another person said it was 2. Stillen rushed this thing... This is the only explanation for the multitude of fitment issues.

Will it work? Yes. Should others buy it? Sure. Will it potentially drive you mad while installing? Sure.

I have an email to our friends at K8 to review my options. Currently I'm running Torks intakes, as I have been for three months. Hopefully, they'll either allow this to return or allow me a swap to the injen intakes.

If Stillen is reviewing these posts, my apologies for showing emotion. I'm sure it will get better with this product

Stillen has requested my vehicle to come in and they will be creating an install video from off the shelf to completely installed

Side note
Kyle is also going to be reviewing the install instructions to clarify some of the steps in larger details which would make the install much easier and smoother in general

Im planning on taking my car to them end of the week Unless I can find a stinger owner sooner with stock intakes that wants to buy the intake anyway and is local

But will have a better update from the STILLEN team tomorrow as they are discussing and reviewing options today

I don't care what Stillen has to say. I'm sure they'll edit out all of the horrible fitting issues. Whoever designed it and signed off on it should be on toilet duty for the rest of their career.

I can't recommend this intake to anyone. Buy a JT intake or wait for another to hit the market. I'm too annoyed and exhausted to get into it any further.
