STILLEN Performance Intake - Ready for Purchase - Video included

Maybe call or email Stillen? See if they can help with a vid or better instructions? I'm sure they will address this.

This was my biggest fear when they kept pushing delays out for engineering rework. This HAD to have come up on the test car.

The best way I can explain it the length and bend of the aluminum is not correct. Notice the driver's side filter sits a full 1.5" higher than the passenger side. This is with the max amount of pipe inserted in the silicone. I spun each piece in every way possible to resolve the driver's side issue but it just isn't feasible. They provide a 90° elbow for driver's side and 45° for passenger side due to cooling lines and ac lines. I'd say the passenger side is basically where they engineered it to fit... But the shields still looked like dog shit when installed. Not sure why they just wouldn't design the piping to bend back towards the turbo inlet and just use a straight adaptor.
This looks bad, hopefully just a fluke... Test car looked like decent fit...

Where did the black cap come from in the last picture? I don't have one with the hardware they supplied. Did it come off the stock intake???

Mine had the parts labeled, "driver" "passenger". No way possible that they mixed it up when packaging things?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I forgot to share this. The bend of the pipe starts too quickly. When securing the filter, the clamp pushes it right off... Every time. You cannot bed the pipe into the bottom of that collar.

The black caps are from my BOVs. There is no way to mix up left and right. They are two different pieces with different ports welded on.

did you try putting the shields can you provide pic of those please

This thing is off my car now. The shields might work if the filters sit where stillen designed them to be. I was not able to connect the lower and upper shields without a large gap where the lower bolts with the upper. I'm not saying they are a bad company, but this is not an intake I'd buy again.

Back to these for now...

Such a disappointment
Thanks a lot for the honest feedback!

Right now I'm wishing that I had exhibited a bit more self control.

Hoping that we get some clarification from Stillen on the install!

Got mine today. Waiting for the 6000 mile service to put them in. Hopefully everything is sorted out by then (2 weeks ish?)

My parts are the same though, not confident the filter will stick on the end of that elbow very securely.

Back to these for now...
That sucks! I got my intake as well. Not happy to see this. Are you planning on just returning it or are you going to troubleshoot it with Stillen? I wonder if they packaged the wrong part. Seems very odd that fitment is bad after all the testing they claimed they did.

It is odd for a company that has 30 years of experience. Let's wait to see what they have to say.

Installed. Uploaded a youtube link for ya'll with a couple quick rev's. Can't do much with the wife sleeping. I woke her up so she could record it for me for all you bastid's.

2979890603026004723.webp I want to preface by saying this was my first install on a CAI. I had help with a buddy of mine who's quite handy.

I have to echo DiabloStinger that yes, the instructions are shitty.
I'd recommend an extra set of hands. It was a two man job getting the driver side pipe to stay locked in.
I picked up some hose clamps (the ones you screw in) for a couple bucks, get em to save you some grief.

Planned to paint the heat shield...maybe some other time.
Installing the heat shield was not fun. A lot of awkward angles, time and energy spent to get some screws to bite.

Nick from KharTunerz was great throughout the whole process.

I wanted to share you step #10 to ya'll. I believe the author had a stroke when writing this. Their picture kinda sucks too. Please view their product page instead if you get confused. Much better pictures listed there.
