Shifter-which is "better" and why?

And the award for worst car name goes to........
I know. But "she" led me to my playground, and her name occurred to me then. I've never tried to come up with a better name.

If you turn off traction and stability control it won't shift and you can bang off the rev limiter. But it does cut throttle so hitting the limiter by mistake slows you way down. (the shift to 3rd is at 58 mph so I figure I would bang the rev limiter and not shift for a 0-60 time and I couldn't even hit 60! - Didn't work!)
Thx for pointing this out. I'll give it a try today. Cheers

The drive by wire will revert back to automatic mode when you stop, even if you are in Sport mode. As you are stopped, you can pull it back into manual with the paddle, and it will stay in manual from that point forward, even if you stay stopped. But you have to remember to do it each time you stop.
My 2018 GT2 (europe version) always revert to D. Even in Sport+. Even if I do not come to a stop. The funny thing is that the time elepsed from last manual shift input to "back to D" is variable. Sometimes about 10 secs, sometimes more. It must be a complex algorism, but you're always about to get shifted back into manual. A bit dangerous... I drive differently when I am in manual: I count on the engine being there to pull me in and out of a corner. If I'm in 4 and plan to brake and shift down to 3rd at the same time, but at the same time the computer thinks my "manual time" is up and shifts up on my behalf into 5th... well: I will not ne pleased at all.

With the drive by wire shifter, I find it easier to just pull back on the shifter (D) to put it back into auto mode... no button press required BTW...
Same here.

That’s troubling behavior. I’ve wondered if something similar is happening to mine, but the car is still too new for me to really divine its behavioral nuances when paddling through the gears…
