When I bought my Palisade in August, the map update company didn't recognize my VIN until 2 months later. It said unknown VIN though, it takes a while for the dealership paperwork to get to the Map company that handles the updates. Try again next week, or give them a call.

Have confirmed that HD Radio Traffic is gone. The option for it still exists in the settings menu. The icon appears to the left of the clock, but the "HD" symbol is now greyed-out and, not surprisingly, I have no traffic info showing. I doubt this is coincidence...but is anyone else having an issue with the HD traffic system (who usually has it available), or does anyone else who updated to v.13.5 still have it working?

Me neither, but the previous version disabled the Google voice search, so their testing process is pretty bad! Hopefully others will confirm soon if it's just mine.

They didn't - it hasn't changed since the original software that came with the car. Without an active Sirius XM subscription that includes a traffic/travel link data plan, Weather, Traffic and Doppler Radar data services are provided over the air, via HD FM radio signal in markets that have that HD-FM broadcast available (unfortunately only a few Canadian cities). I do enjoy the Doppler radar coverage to see what type and extent of precipitation is moving through the area, which is a rather unique feature for a car.

It takes a few minutes after the car is started for the data to be received and decoded - it will show a No Signal notice until then. Once you leave a local HD FM broadcast area you lose that data stream as well, so without a satellite data plan these features aren't much use on an extended trip.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, SteveCo! I was just about to post something wrt this HD symbol to the left of the clock as mentioned by Marc Collins. Now I know what and how that works. However, I am noticing that it's not always present even while I am on my commute route. For example, as I was driving to work this morning, I expected that HD symbol and a lot of red and yellow lines on the Nav because of that early snowstorm yesterday in GTA, but to my surprise, I didn't see either. Anyhow, now I know that it's related to Sirius XM radio, I will just go ahead and install the new nav s/w.

Yes, exactly. Since updating to v.13.5, my HD Radio traffic no longer operates as it did since the day I bought the car almost 2 years ago. How do you explain that? How can I turn it on or off when it already shows active in the Nav menu (where you can choose Sirius, HD or "automatic" source for traffic). It is still working for you in Calgary with v.13.5?

Check the HD radio site and see what stations are broadcasting HD signals - depending on where their transmitters are, you may be passing through areas with poor or no reception.

Please update your profile with your location - you'll find it helps a great deal.

Assuming you don't already have v.13.5, this suggests the HD Radio traffic service in GTA might be down for some reason. It might be coincidence that it happened to me at the time I updated. If you are not seeing the usual traffic info and have not yet updated, then just be aware updating will certainly not fix the problem (wouldn't expect it to). It is better if the update is not responsible for breaking it because then a fix may come sooner than six months.

Good point, I do not know for certain yet. I will keep my eye on it and post an update later on.

Just went out to test whether the car receives HD Radio after the update: A quick check would indicate that FM 92.5 (at least) shows up as HD...unless I am doing something wrong? Did not spend any more time on this.

Do you have HD Radio traffic? Did you have HD Radio traffic before? Is the HD Radio Traffic icon (to the left of the time on the nav screen) greyed-out or coloured? Listening to a radio station will not tell you/us anything.

Really? Your nav screen has no map on it? Or roads with traffic information colour-coding (or not, as we are trying to determine)?

It's the "MAP" button on the silver strip of control buttons...not the radio/audio system.

And have you always had traffic info in the past (while in the GTA)?

And do you now?

The HD Traffic info appears in the Map screen, to the left of the clock at the top.

That's the icon. Is it greyed-out or coloured? If greyed-out you won't see any traffic info on your map. If it is "active"/coloured, you should.
