Remote Start!

$299.95 shipped within the continental US.

However, we will be doing a pre-order group buy for customers as well.
Yeah, count me in on that. :D though wish there was a cellular module y'all were thinking on adding. Either way, I'm in. Gimmie gimmie.

The OEM remote start can simply start the vehicle. Just as if you stepped in and started the vehicle, it will "resume" the cabin heat/cool settings but that's all. I am happy enough with it - and it was a requirement for my purchase - but I do wish KIA had offered many of these other options.
Do you have to turn the car off, after remotely starting it, and then back on to actually drive it? Or does the OE remote start allow you to get in and drive off?

When you open any door (even the hatch) it shuts off, then you have to restart it.

Not sure, actually, if it shuts off when you open the door, or just unlock it. I never take the remote out of my pocket so I am pressing the door handle button to unlock. I can try that if I remember, but the point is, you can't get in without the engine shutting off.

I hate that. No bueno. Seems like ever system does that but for this u it from K8. But I am not paying a shop $500-$800 to install it.

It's really not too much of issue for me. Like ISG, the engine fires back up so effortlessly, I really don't mind.

I fully understand it is for others. I wanted remote start for three reasons - in winter, to get some of the chill out of the cabin, and to get a head start on warming the engine just a little; and in our baking summers, to cool the cabin so I can at least breathe when I get in.

Firmware is now out for idatalink systems... If you get a compustar system with a blade interface you will be able to keep the motor running after its remote started.. You will end up paying A LOT more then that adapter that is about to be released but you will also be able to add there app based controller (even more money).. Since remote starts and audio installs is what I do for a living I might be installing this soon to see if it actually works flawlessly. But the automatic proximity lock and unlock when walking away from car with the Kia store module offers sounds even better, kinda hard choice now lol

I would love to see the wire diagram of the one Kia store is about to release to compare though..

Sounds like you keep talking your self out of this option because your unfamiliar with car accessories

Maybe this option is not for you as you need to do your homework to find someone that can professionally install but I can guarantee your missing out on an option filled product.
Hi I'm in Melb know anybody who would be competent to install this he could proberly get quite a few Melb cars lining up to have it d one

If I go ahead with it, I would be using Phat Audio in Melbourne.
I'll check them out it would be good to get the install instructions to get them to have a look to see what's involved

Can you get any more info datalink firmware? I've reached out to Compustar and they are still saying not compatible yet. I have the EUR OEM remote start installed, dying to my compustar drone mobile back

So my remote start no longer works in my car. I put sound deadening in my hatch and properly disconnected everything and installed everything as it should be(100% certain nothing was grounded) and now the remote starter won’t work. I was at the dealership for 3 hours today and no one seems to be able to figure it out and they even called tech support and they don’t have answers either

Technically the software isn't from compustar it is from idatalink.
Go to www*idatalink*com
It wouldn't let me post a link so the * = .
lol

OK guys, so I may be reading too much between the lines with these posts from you guys south of the 49th but here is my question.
Does KIA not provide the US customers with UVO Intelligence and the UVO Connect App for your smart phones? It is a 4G connected App that allows for remote start and other services such Find my Car, vehicle status reports and an Emergency Response similar to what GM has with Onstar. Up here in the great white north, the no additonal cost service is provided on most if not all of the KIA product line including of course the Stinger. It is a program that started in 2018 from KIA. If memory serves me correctly, KIA provides the service for the length of the warranty which for us Canucks is only five years, not the ten that you folks down south get. Kia has yet to announce what the cost of the service is going to be once customers have to pay for it themselves.

No. We don’t get the fancy UVO mobile app with remote start.

Hi guys. My friend and I installed the Kia OEM remote starter in my 2019 GT2 this morning. It took us about an hour. I do have a question though I am hoping someone can help with. I am unable to get the car's original fobs to remote start the car. The provided remotes that came with the remote start kit work great. When I try to use the car's fobs though, I press the lock button and then the tailgate button and the tailgate goes up. If I press the lock button and the then panic button, the horn starts beeping. Is there a different combination for 2019's? Is there something additional I need to do? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Try lock, then hatch open. That's what opens mine.

Failing that, consult the instructions for the remote starter and see if it tells you about a setting on the vehicle to make it work..

OK. Problem solved thanks to the Kia Stinger Owners Facebook group. I was holding the second button down instead of just clicking it. With the remote start fobs you hold the button down to get the car to start, but with the car fobs you just click it. Thanks all!!
