They finally got me in a rental… they put me in a Nissan Sentra with the check engine light on. Taking it back tomorrow lol. Yikes.

Sounds like it’s gonna be a fun process. Been 2 and a half weeks and no parts are even in yet.

All mushed but wont really know until next week when we drop it off, they will do the tear down and see what's up.

Got the tear down estimate, 15k for mine. Sent it off to insurance last week and they still haven't even ordered any parts yet.

Just got mine back today after spending 5 weeks in the shop. Still have to go back for some clips and to make some adjustments to some of the work.

Waiting on parts (new hatch) was the biggest issue! As is supply chain all around!

Wonder if my situation had anything do with that? I was told by the shop manager that I got one of two new hatches from Kia in the country at the time. Not sure if he was just saying that though!!!

Lucky, my insurance still hasn't authorized anything from the second estimate, car is just sitting there. It's already been a month and they haven't even started. They wont even order parts until they get the go ahead.

^^Is it your insurance holding up things or the body shop? If insurance, what insurance co is this?

They have Progressive and they are covering it fully.

So, I don't know what the hold up is.

There should be a valid reason why work has not begun. Maybe time to find a different shop?

After a gentle talking to the body shop all of a sudden has the go ahead. Weird.
