3.3TT Quicksilver Exhaust Systems

I'm waiting to hear back from Quicksilver... I'm not actually certain which piece is out of alignment, but it definitely is. Of course I no longer have any of the shipping boxes...

As soon as I also hear back from them, I will contact you. I will bring my car back in and see what could possibly be out of whack to cause that. I have a feeling that the bend isnt tight enough, thus allowing the muffler assemblies to be further away from each other. I have a solution to that, but it shouldnt need one. When I was running the SSR pipes, it would always rub the crossmember and or underside of the car. I machined my own secondary to downpipe exhaust gasket (1.5 degrees) basically a small wedge
120thou on one side tapering down to 060 on the other. Forcing the secondary pipe downwards when tightened. I will try the same on my rear slip flange and see how far over it will move the tailpipes. If it works, I will send you out some. This will also be a permanent fix if it does work, and or until Quicksilver corrects it. PM me you address and I will ship some out asap. It should be a five minute fix

Do we have a list going anywhere for the group buy?
OP has one in a post some pages back, might be worth it for him to add it to the first post though.

Which reminds me, I need to add the downpipes to my order, lol

My downpipes have been stuck in customs for 3 day. It's just a tube like hurry up and release it already... My parts from Korea had no problem getting in.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I’m going to go ahead and get the secondaries. Waiting to get the requisite number to get rest.

Just sharing my experience...

In the latest message from Quicksilver, after I had sent them photos, they acknowledged the issue of the exhaust alignment and discussed how they make the exhausts by hand and the OEM exhaust design is "challenging". "Our Korean customers require a part-for-part replacement so we follow their instructions."
Their suggestion is to go to "a good muffler shop" to fix it.

Well, okay then...

This is why I bought the mbrp. Quicksilver doesn't want to honor their warranty. That's a manufacturer defect.

Unfortunately, I agree. So if you got this exhaust with the discount and your fitment is correct, congratulations! If not, apparently you're on your own, as some others have already done. I just wanted to give Quicksilver a chance to step up before I had someone else fix their production flaw.

Live and learn.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I was hoping they would have sent a replacement.

Yes that’s concerning. I was about to my name on the list. I don’t want a product that doesn’t fit and the company isn’t going to stand behind. All the vendors and manufacturers I’ve used so far have come from recommendations on this forum. This is not good

Glad to hear that they are interested in resolving this and continuing to be a reliable company for us to deal with.

Well... It turns out...

It wouldn't take long for an exhaust shop to fix that, they should be footing the bill.

How bad is the fitment?
I think I heard some rattle in your video. Is that due to the fitment issue?

Do you still have the exhaust on?
Is it something that any shop can fix?

And most of all, are they willing to reimburse the cost?

Thanks

Sure but why should he have to go to the effort to correct their issue? When you order a ~$1k exhaust that is designed for the car, you shouldn’t have to bend it up to get it to fit.

I agree; me personally, I would rather wait 30 mins at an exhaust shop than wait however long for the new part. Given the fact they have already sent you a poor fitting part, would you trust them to send a correct fitting one? Seems the more efficient route for everyone.

Guess I'll find out tomorrow if I am lucky or not. I really don't want to have to deal with weird fitment issues.

Looking forward to hear your experience and thought on the exhaust!

Still waiting for mine to ship but I plan on going to a muffler shop I’ve been using for 20 years to mount it. They will deal with any fitment issue in minutes. I need this to be stealth so the wifey doesn’t find out so I can’t do it at home anyhow.

So uhh, $20 to not rat you out.

Not right is not right.
No rattle.
Yes.
Maybe.
Looks like no, but I haven't asked.
