3.3TT Quicksilver Exhaust Systems

All I want is a t-shirt and some decals...! lol

I am trying to source a care package!
Hopefully we can make a few videos, and have them edited together to showcase our rides and their systems. And have them upload to Quicksilver website

You shouldn't have had any issue sliding the exhaust back without removing anything else. Since it sits in the hangers, it should have been able to swing back far enough to easily swap the secondaries. But, I guess you were there and did what you had to do to to finish it. I work with a lift, so maybe its much simpler for me that way. Wondering if a smaller bolt would have worked easier, but I think I also used the same metric bolts you did.
The sound should be slightly deeper, especially on acceleration, and a little louder at idle and cold start. The secondary pipes were my first mod, and thats what i remember being different than stock sound.
Great write up and enjoy

I got my Silent Secondary pipes and just finished installing (still with stock catback in place). Glad I had read fourthvictor and twn2rbo posts on the subject. Thanks guys. Feel that Quicksiler cheaped-out on not providing bolts, but at least I could choose to get stainless bolts. I had the same problem with one 50mm bolt being too long. A 30mm was too short to fit the washers, so I just turned the 50 around as fourthvictor suggested. One extra thing to note on the install... Don't tighten the front flange nuts or support bolts until you've got the secondary to mid pipe bolts in. Those mid flanges were not aligning until I loosened the front flange nuts to allow a bit of play.

I made decibel measurements on cold startup from inside the car. Both stock and Quicksilver pipes settled to 51 db after a few seconds. However, upon accelation, the new pipes are letting a bit more sound through.

During my install, I had loosened everything up and then waited to tighten everything once the secondary pipes were installed. I worked my way backwards from the primary downpipes.

Since your secondaries were the same as mine I’m guessing it wasn’t a design flaw, but they were manufactured for that purpose.

@jdogonroad Do you care to explain why you disagree? I was simply stating what I did during my install.

Haven’t a clue what you are talking about. Went back searching this thread several times, and can’t find anything you could possibly be referring to.
Maybe it was on accident?

Post #424, you clicked the disagree button.

Have no earthly idea why I would have done that. Thought it was brilliant, actually, and good advice. All I can say is that I may have had a fat finger/old eyes moment.

No worries. Happens to the best of us.

any update on the super sport? need some reviews and sound clips.

I think they're trying to get a set out to the guy who set this all up, cause I don't blame anyone for not wanting to put money down if you have no idea how it will sound.

I understand the hesitation. I personally saw their initial videos, did some research, and watched the videos over and over. I could tell the sound was different, so I took a chance and contacted them. Ordered the first one and hoped it sounded better than their videos. It did. So I am taking a chance again on the sound being more pronounced.
As soon as I have any idea of how it sounds, everyone will know

QuickSilver responded to me this morning saying they were going to try to get a Stinger from a dealer on May 7th to test out the new exhaust. This was pending ease up of their lockdown though. Hopefully, they will post a sound clip whenever they are able to do the test.

Let me ask this, how many are actually serious about getting the new system ? And I mean not just kicking it around, in the market ready to purchase?
Because if that is the case maybe I can convince the owner to pony up and start production before the needed amount. If people say yes and back out, guess who is left holding the empty cookie jar? Me, and I look like a gd fool
So honestly, who is seriously looking into this. Because the fitment issues of the past should not be a factor. Since that was well documented with them, and thats the reason for the new retool and v2

The original system was designed awhile ago, and at the time, I guess the angle of the tailpipes slipped through the cracks and became a design flaw, that we all found

My personal thoughts are, I am glad that I made contact with Quicksilver ,and the owner was gracious enough to be very agreeable on dropping the price, then offering the free shipping for the month. Then is designing a new improved system with fitment and sound, specifically because of our wants and needs, and our feedback. At the same price, sans shipping, which once shipped, on your door in two days. I am hype

Update on the now discontinued system I have installed. Shop made adjustments for better fitment and at my request they used a set of oval exhaust tips even though the inlet was too large. That way they can more accurately center the exhaust ends.

The shop added a piece to the right side so that it wasn't so much on an angle like my previous pics show. Not sure what they did on the left side but maybe raised it up a bit somehow to get the tips to fit without touching the diffuser. Looks near perfect and very stable.

However when I took a short drive and I was shocked how much quieter it was. Before when I had no tips it was so much louder, and the tone was so awesome. Now with the adjustments and the tips, it's so quiet, like almost stock quiet! and this is with the ARK downpipes. I was hoping the tips would quiet it down but not this much!

Should I have expected this? I know it sounds silly and these are just my thoughts but could the tips and/or the adjustments make that much of a difference? I'll do some more driving and make a video clip soon (although it doesn't matter a whole lot since they are making a whole new system haha)

It probably only sounds quieter in the cabin. I thought the same thing til my wife drove past and I was like, wow , that sounds even better from the outside

Makes sense, I do appreciate it's quieter on the inside. I drove by an overpass to hear the sound bounce off it with the windows down as I have before without the tips and it was much quieter in that aspect as well. Still, I like it a lot and I shouldn't be so picky.

It’s a quiet exhaust so makes sense. My MBRP exhaust is quieter in cabin after tips as well but louder on the outside.

Hopefully the second revision is louder but it’s going to be hard to get people to commit to it until they actually build it and provide some videos of how it sounds compared to version 1.
