3.3TT Quicksilver Exhaust Systems

Just an FYI, I have installed about 10 different systems so far, Stillen, Borla, Magnaflow, GT9 etc
some were drop in, others needed final fitment in place. Be it a pry or slight bend of a bracket or hanger, here or there. GT9 is prob one of the best looking systems I have ever seen, and sound is sick! But also, we had to source hardware and gaskets with that, and tweak in place. Not enough that I would even mention, but it still needed massaging to be OCD perfect for Kato

Its probably been discussed, but have you guys removed the floor liners in the trunk? I never realized there literally is NO sound deadening material at all! There is a pretty cavernous area where the spare is; I could see this heavily contributing to the minor drone I have.

I'm going to purchase some material and give it a go.
In the actual forums, there are numerous threads and examples/pics/videos of owners putting in sound deadening material in the exact area you’re asking about. I know one such is in here somewhere.

There is now a preorder option on Quicksilver website $250 US down
and there is also a FB group dedicated to discussion and group purchase of these systems, as well as all things related to Quicksilver exhausts
Great, so if we preorder you're going to make sure we get a group buy discount assuming at least 10 members jump on board, right?

Yes once they have the minimum of 10 they will start production run. Discount then will be 40% or $690 once 10 more are ordered, quite possibly before or during the run, discount is 50% or $863 off US dollars
and dont forget they are covering $120 plus on 2 day shipping

You know it!!!!!

OK, so I got mine installed today. Installer took the heat the pipe route. Took LOTS of heating. He says it is common for any of these model specific exhausts to run into issues like this, he didn't flinch a bit.

However, the drone in the cabin at low rpm is HUGE. north of 2k rpm it sounds great, but below that, drone city. I made sure he put the pipes as far back as they would go. I may go back under there and try to slide the passenger side one back, but i think it's pretty close to it's limit.

my boxes didn't have screws for the rear flanges. Of course the shop had some, but keep that in mind if you're doing this at home.

Curious to where they heat them. Also glad to hear from an installer that they are familiar with these kinds of issues. Are you stock secondary pipes with cats? I am wondering if thats where the drone might be coming from? Like you said, make sure passenger side assembly is slid back into the tips. Mine would go a few inches into them, enough that I pulled it back some underneath the car

it is very boomy in the cabin below 2k rpm under load. above 2k a proper exhaust note takes over.

Yeah, to me, that boom is not close to being drone...

I am on the stock downpipes. I didn't want to remove the cats, nor do I want to spend another $300+.

he bent at the curve from the rearmost bracket to the muffler right before the helmholtz, and on the inside of the curve going into the muffler. pass side muffler was too far out. he bent the mouting pins that slide into the rubber hanger as well.

You guys all need to pick up the Silenced Secondaries!

You’ll be way better off with exhaust tips. The sound deadening has minimal impact and the tips will eliminate your drone.

You're probably right, did some reading and it seemed to eliminate road noise more than anything. You have aftermarket tips? I'm looking at these at the moment

Isn't that the wrong size inlet?

They are bigger fitment is advertised as 2"- 2 7/8", looks like you tighten the screws to clamp them down. Does that style of attachment cause issues? Just being a cheap-ass honestly haha, figured I could just return them with Prime if there's any fitment issues.

Also found these ones that everyone else seems to be using. A little more but look better IMO.
