Big issue is the price. I could easily see MSRP being 55-60K on this limited edition. I think there will actually be a lot of these because I don’t know how many people are going to pay a 5-10k premium for a color and a 360 camera.

Given Kias MFs and residuals, that’s what, an $800 a month lease or $1,000 finance payment over five years? That’s gonna be a stretch.

Yeah, if they try to set the MSRP that high, they're going to get a lot of "uh, not for a Kia".
Articles such as this: 2019 Kia Stinger GT Adds 500-Unit Atlantica Special Edition seem to suggest an MSRP around the $53k mark. We can hope for that, but they probably need to keep it below $55K. I don't think I'd pay $55k or above.

I guess I should have added - I'm not interested in being "that guy" driving around in the "special" (limited) vehicle. I'm buying this car for my own satisfaction, nobody else. I want the micro blue because I LOVE it - the BMW and Mercedes models I was previously considering both offered similar colors (and allowed me to select the interior color I wanted, unlike the Stinger, to-date).

Well... I hate to tell you this... BUT
In Australia we have that colour and all the so called extras are already on the top spec model. Not keen on the brown leather though. Seeing as it’s so hot Downunder we said no to the heated rear seats, but we have heated and cooled front seats. The badges, well we can do that ourselves.

You can have it now. All you have to do is warm up to the DCB color. Also, the US version will have the super-uber cool Atlantica name and badge which will immediately make it worth far, far more than the Australian version

In addition to no rear heated seats, I thought you guys also didn't get the bigger screen on the highest trim either. At least, I haven't seen it in any of the Australian video reviews. Also, based on the website, it looks like there's an up-charge for the Deep Chroma Blue color. If so, then that may not really make it too much different than making it a limited edition.

Either way, KIA using the 'Limited Edition' gimmick here could make it more difficult to get this at a reasonable price.

Hate to disappoint but it does have the 8” screen.

Luckily, the 2018s seems to offer what I'd want. Coming from an F150, the 2 Stinger Premium RWDs that I've tested with the Drive Wise package hit the mark for me.
Only thing that would upset me if I got a 2018 in SWP, would be if Ceramic was offered for 2019 on the Premium. Wireless charging is far from being a deal breaker for me.

So you ARE picking this up today, or this is what you want? I think you are saying you're getting it today, and if so Congrats! This is nearly exactly what I want. I just want to add the Drive Wise package. Blind Spot is a great tool for me (especially on the Stinger which has massive blind areas due to the high side neckline in the back), and auto sensing windshield wipers (once you have them... can't go back!), and the auto cruise control to start-stop. Perfect for all my highway travels!

We want to see picks ASAP! ; )

My wait is over! The local dealer I was working with was unable to get a ceramic silver gt2 anytime in the near future so I got my deposit back and traveled 3.5 hours to Maryland this morning.

Said goodbye to the caddy... bitter sweet.


Sorry only took one pic of the stinger. Couldn't waste anymore time before driving!

I was waiting for the Stinger to get what I wanted but at this point, I think I'll grab a G70 now

It's not a massive sample, but I think it's fair to say that KIA has missed the mark a little when it comes to addressing the "enthusiast" market, which I would say describes many of us here. About the same number are waiting it out as have purchased, and half of those who purchased didn't get exactly what they wanted. There are Stingers sitting on lots around the country - over 3,700 at the moment, and over 350 within just 200 miles of Atlanta.

KIA hit the target sheet but now they have to work on the bullseye. It’s not that hard. They have all the hardware but they have to put all of it on the US cars. And some more color options, inside and out, would be great too. They just need to fine tune the scope for the bullseye.

Where did you get this info and how does it compare in proportional terms to other vehicles? I agree with your perspective, but just wondering what the normal (%) inventory levels are for Optima or Forte or Sedona or K900? Are we really suggesting KIA is at the stage of having difficulty selling Stingers and we should see discounts or programs on them soon?

I am in Canada (where the cars are better equipped, but still issues related to enthusiast options) and don't see any evidence of anything other than the cars flying off the lots. But perhaps some official numbers might suggest otherwise?
