Lots of comments in this forum regarding lack of features at certain trim levels, and some not available at all (i.e. 360º camera) - I'd love to see the split between those who are still waiting vs. those that have purchased, as I wonder if this will affect availability for 2019.

Let us know your thoughts.

Personally, I've waited this long, I'll wait until I can get exactly what I want.

I waited months and got exactly what I wanted, but may have just gotten really lucky.

I was looking for a RWD GT2 in Micro Blue with White interior since November. I almost preordered it but dealers wanted a deposit and $2k over MSRP. I laughed and said I’d wait, so I extended my lease on my Optima 6m until the time was right. Finally 1 was delivered to a dealer 2 hours from me so I rushed over to see it. Apparently it was preordered in December by someone that just backed out of the deal so I knew they wanted it off their lot. I got an amazing deal and exactly what I wanted but I did get lucky.

Also in my situation the new lease rates for March-May are $10-15m more than last month, and read lease cash may be dropped on ‘19s, so waiting for a better deal may work against some people.

IMHO I’d wait for the car you want or would be happy with, but wouldn’t hold out in hopes for better deals to come. At least for the foreseeable future.

Onto week number 3 waiting for a Ceramic Silver AWD GT2. Getting impatient, but I will wait....

These are a dime a dozen in the Charlotte NC area. Looks like you have a bunch of GT1s up there with AWD. Strange because I want the GT1. Haha.

Nothing within 200 miles of here with what I am looking for. The dealer i am working with told me it'll be another 4 to 6 weeks.

StingerNYC, I feel your pain. I’m looking for a white gt and in ny area there are none. I’m working with Yonkers Kia. Who’s your dealer if you don’t mind me asking?

I originally wanted a white GT. There was not a single one available east of the Mississippi. Every single available GT within 500 miles of me was Micro Blue.

I ended up getting a GT1 in Ceramic Silver.

No regrets.

Ordered my SWP GT 2 October last year hopefully it arrives end of April

Ordered my Snow White Pearl GT 2 October last year hopefully it arrives end of April
That is a ridiculously long wait.

Yep, but they originally ordered a 2017 build 2018 compliant car which I did not want. Miscommunication was the issue so it did originally arrive jan 22. I told them I did not want it as I wanted 2018 build and they reordered hence the extra wait.
Bought the accessories and badges joined the forum , know heaps about the car but I don’t have it yet! Frustrated to say the least.

They seem to send certain specs to certain areas. We have Ceramic Silver GT1 & GT2s.

To answer the OP: Personally, I'm waiting on a White Premium. 90% of ours are Silky Silver. My plan is to buy around late summer or early fall. However, if info on the 2019s comes out and it has the 360 camera, then I may wait.

Same here, i wanted a 2018 build from the beginning, firstly they offered me a Ceramic Silver back in NOV 2017, then they asked if i would accept a 2017 build, i say NO, then they asked if i wanted a 2017 build, but with 2018 compliance, still NO, i know my 2018 built Deep Chroma Blue will be worth the wait. :)

Ordered GT2 AWD Ceramic Silver in October Just heard from the dealer and he is hoping for this month.

Must have = Deep Chroma Blue
Highly Desired = (at minimum) the features that are provided with Canadian GT Limited

I might be able to compromise (i.e. ignore the rest of the world) and just accept whatever features are there as good enough.
I have to see whenever the "must have" finally becomes available. When that happens I might just say that's good enough and pull the trigger.

However, since I'm looking at the GT2 (or up), I've already decided that at least the look needs to be exactly what I want. For that kind of money, I don't want to compromise on the looks.

Thanks for the responses so far - my thought was this might be a way to let the mothership know that a significant number of future customers aren't willing to snap up the configurations they chose to bring. As of this post, it's about a third - small sample size, but still significant, I think.

What are the differences between 2017, "compliant 2018" and 2018 builds?

I am waiting to find out when the LSD will be available on AWD and hopefully also the bi-modal exhaust (both were seen on a test mule in France and reportedly will come in August). That might mean waiting for a 2019 :( Or knowing Kia, they might decide to never offer certain key items in certain markets!

Waiting on the 360 camera, wireless charging, etc.

If those are on the ‘19, I’ll likely get a stinger. If not, I’ll probably go with the G80 sport.

I’m waiting until the Stinger comes to the US with ALL the colors and features that are available everywhere else in the world. It’s not asking for too much.... I’m afraid that KIa is going to make me wait so long that I end up buying something else.
