On my trip to TX in April, I had had the Stinger for less than a month. I got two warning citations from cops: one going in and one coming out of TX. Since the second warning was only 9 mph over the speed limit (that was what I had the cruise set at, having learned my lesson going into TX at 15 mph over the speed limit), I was chagrined and mystified. The cop got out and walked up to the rear of my car and in the rearview mirror I could see his gut and his pistol on his hip, and he just stood there for a minute, then walked around to my window and said, "You were going a bit fast back there." (I heard "son", even though he didn't say it.) He was pleasant and looked about ready to retire. I decided that both cops just wanted to check out my new car, which was obviously new to them too.
Where I get my Stinger cleaned, the owner says that he hasn't yet seen another Stinger. He tells everyone that he talks to who want to buy a new car to get a Stinger, just because he is impressed with mine.

How did you get a warning. As far as I’m aware there is no audible speed warning. Did you have UVO on or apple CarPlay/ android auto?

Sorry for not being clear. I got two "warning" citations from the police, instead of speeding citations.

Both citations were for cruising above the speed limit. The turbos were employed numerous times during the road trip. The most notable was on Hwy 6 in central Utah, where, at one point, you can see downhill, across the flats and up to the distant ridge, a distance of, oh, I'd say three or four miles; clear line of sight. I had two or three semis and the collected smaller vehicles in tow, in front of me. Moving over slightly to the left, I could see clear sailing ahead, dropped down a gear and pulled out and made my passing run. As soon as I passed the front semi I pulled back over and took my foot off the gas. My son was giggling. "Dad! You just did 130 miles an hour!" I looked down at the speedo and saw the needle dropping, but still above 120. That was a surprise. It sure didn't "feel" like I had been doing 130. The car effortlessly does this sort of thing; it offers to keep doing it if you keep your foot down. I did this often, but never went that fast again, although I did go above a hundred several more times. I figured that swiftly passing and getting back down to no more than ten over the speed limit was "allowed"; at least it was safer than just opening it up and going hells bells because I can. That's how I drive: zip ahead, get back in line and slow down. Lots of FUN! (Even when getting flipped off: one of my passes brought me toward an approaching Mustang. As I moved back over the driver stuck his arm straight up and gave me his middle finger. I had plenty of room! But some people don't like it when someone else uses their "super powers" and points that at them!

Went to the beach and I swear almost everybody stopped and looked at the Stinger. It's a good looking car even seating still. But coming home was a different story. Drove by a bmw and I thought I passed him or he exited but he was on my passenger side staring at my car let's just say if it wasn't for the blind spot warning I would have taken him out!

Drove from Savannah to Asheboro NC and back the other day. 5 times I had people come over and ask about the car. Got an average mpg of 28.5 on the whole 700 mile round trip, to include the in and around town mileage. I-95 flowed great each way, with an average speed of 80. Several burst over 110, and still got decent mileage

We sit ng for my wife in the grocery store. Young yuppie couple (hmm is that redundant?) walks by and the guys eyeballs never left my Stinger. He was getting his wife/girlfriend to look as well. My wife comes out and as we drive away I see the young couple looking again.... as they get into a brand new "starting at $96,600" Mercedes S550.

Yes. The Stinger is like a rude party crasher. A disrupter. Disturber of the status quo. Don't expect proud owners of much more expensive cars to give any respect. This is only beginning.
I have been followed into a parking lot by a police officer solely because the "officer wanted to look at my car". He had seen me drive by him on my way to work several times and used that opportunity to get a closer look.

I had a couple of interactions with business associates yesterday who were seeing my car for the first time.
The first one came to see me as I got to my car and told me that he's spotted it from inside the restaurant where we'd both been eating. He had at first thought it was a Panamera, then asked me what it was when he got to it. He was predictably shocked when I told him it was Kia Stinger. He sat inside, had me open up the hatch and the hood. We chatted about it for 15 minutes and he was really impressed by it. This is from a guy whose DD in the summer is a 911 Turbo and can afford to drive whatever he wants.
The second encounter was about a half hour later. A client came to meet me at my office and asked if it was my Stinger in the parking lot. I said that it was and he told me that he'd been wanting to drive one for a while, so we headed out and went for a cruise. His DD is a Mercedes CL500 and, he too, was very impressed by the car. His Mercedes is about 5 years old and he says he's seriously considering a Stinger as a replacement. The AWD and back seat room really impressed him. When I told him that my only beef is the inability to break the tires loose, his response was that he's burned through enough tires in his life and we're both old enough to be a little more refined.
Just thought I'd share the reactions from a couple of guys who are regular drivers of high end German cars.

Gas station encounter today. A guy in a Caddy CTS sedan, rolled down his window and waved me over. What brand is that, he asked. I said, Kia. He said, Oh! That’s the new one! Then we chatted awhile. He was quite impressed with the looks of the car.

ya know volkswagons were described as ''just beetles'' lacking power and such......but no one says that now, I may keep the badge....the badge doesn't drive the car....I do.

Pulled up at a stop light and looked to my right and saw a young boy, about 8 years old with his nose mushroomed against his back seat windshield, eyes rolling at my Stinger like he was reading a book. His father looked at me glaringly. I pointed to his son and smiled. He looked back at his son and had a great laugh. Gave me a thumbs up.

The Stinger is a head turner for sure, lots of folks checking them out all over the place. The sad thing is some dealers are still playing games on the pricing. I would be telling folks how to get a great deal on one and get them out the door, let the word of mouth and referrals get more business in.

Ive had a lot of fun BSing with folks more than driving....lol....heck ive had her prolly ten days or so and just passed the 200 mile mark...hahaa...so shes completely rebadged with the E.....everyone asks is it electric?...lol....so I racked my simple brain and have been telling people that its an Effanshoustein.....they buy into it ...its just so Euro sounding....thats German for Kia
