Paint/rust issues

Why in the world would you want to kill an innocent animal over your inability to properly maintain the finish of your car (the only exception being the painted trim pieces which are a known issue, which Kia has repaired/replaced for numerous folks)? I have no eye deer. The rust spots were 100% environmental contamination and had nothing to do with Kia. The 6 metallic trim pieces on the top of the Stinger are stainless steel and can be aggressively cleaned with cleaner wax or rubbing compound; it is doubtful there is any permanent damage to them.

BTW the BBB is not going to conduct any legal action on your behalf. At best they may weakly try to mediate a solution. But in reality all they do is extort companies for certification fees. If you really want to pursue action against Kia (not sure for what) with a possible real outcome, contact your state attorney general's office.
I love getting replies like yours. I would never hurt an innocent animal. I was merely speaking with frustration and aggravation. And as for your thoughts on the BBB not helping me...wrong! The BBB had a hearing on my car and Kia has 30 days to repurchase my vehicle! So...next! I took the car by a paint specialist in which Kia refers this specialist to all customers for repairs and paint issues. Was given a statement that I took to court stating the paint was full of contaminants and would need to be completely stripped down and repainted.

I'm going to end this post with this....I would never intentionally hurt an animal so stop being so damn sensitive. That's what is wrong with this world now! People getting butthurt and taking everything so serious. I was speaking out of frustration.
Now on to the real matter at hand. No it wasn't rail dust it was contaminates in the paint. Took the car to Kia's preferred paint specialist and the paint was confirmed a direct result of manufacturers defect. Kia has agreed to repurchase my car and pay back all money that I have invested including initial fees, taxes, payments, etc. I'm sharing this information to help others who are experiencing the same paint issues. Yes, the BBB Auto Line WILL help you if you push through all the threats from Kia of America and let the BBB arbitrate for you. Good luck!

Fwiw our 2016 Forester had a bit of "rail dust" rust spots all over it, especially around the bottom of the car. I clayed the car and buffed it out to prep it for ceramic coating and it solved the problem. As others already mentioned it can come from brake rotors from your own and others' cars out on the freeway. It is simply particulates landing on your car when it is wet and neither Hyundai nor Kia are to blame. If it buffs off and the finish remains fine after buffing it is surface contamination, nothing more. If there are pits in the paint it could be rust from the panel under the paint. If you are unable to make this determination yourself (it isn't difficult) take it to a detailing shop that. offers color correction services for a professional assessment before filing a frivolous lawsuit.

I love the smell of burning bridges in the morning.

Agreed. The dealer may retaliate by looking for excuses to invalidate the warranty on things they might otherwise look the other way on.

According to @Stung!! above, they're repurchasing the car and repaying all costs. Sounds like her strategy worked for her.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
@Stung!! Good luck on your quest! Please keep us updated. :)

hey @Stung!! this just popped up on youtube if you decide to replace the roof rails yourself

That guy did a clean job.

Personally I think the roof rails matching the car color would like nice. If the rails are metal then maybe ceramic coating will protect it?
