Just jumped in the car and nothing was coming through the speakers. It’s not muted, I’ve tried multiple stations, and even making a phone call through Bluetooth. Nothing.

Any ideas?

Amplifier fuse?

There's a thread on this somewhere. It's happened 3 times to me since I purchased 12/15/17. Talking with Kia's concierge service, they want to replace the head unit. Since that conversation, it's not recurred. I'm not thrilled about replacing the head unit. But others have. I've not done any nav/system updates yet, either.

On the face of the stereo unit, there is a small, unmarked button that you can push with a pen tip or something small. That will reboot the unit and should restore the audio from the speakers. It's just to the right of the Radio button in the black plastic area.

It seems to have fixed itself. Hopefully this isn’t a reoccurring issue.

I forgot to add that the only way I know for it to fix itself is to leave the car parked overnight. If you leave the car for just a short time and come back, the problem persists.

Love the reset button tip!

Does this lose your settings?

Had this happen to me once before replacing the radio. No problems since then.

I don't mean to resurrect a passing thread.

I wanted to share that KIA is not alone with this kind of random issue with audio. On my old car, although VERY rarely; on my steering wheel my, the volume buttons, voice assistance, and next/previous track would just not work. I could touch everywhere on the dash, just not there. They replaced my radio, and opened up the steering wheel to have a look. They replaced everything.

And then... a few months later it randomly happened again. I've chalked it up to software. I feel maybe the software just all of the sudden stop working or didn't start correctly but never/rarely happens again after a short period break.

Just like my other Fob issues thread I created with my Stinger, I'm coming to the conclusion it may be software or signal blocking issues rather fob/sensor issues directly (or so I hope).

I had a no volume issue this weekend on a 2019 GT2 RWD with 1000 miles.

4/5 afternoon iPhone plugged in via USB listening to music no problems
4/6 morning had volume until iPhone plugged in and then nothing until car was shut off and on again with iPhone unplugged, plugged back in and no volume again. Tried the same with the Android phone same issues.
4/7 everything was back to normal.

My Kia sales person said they have been having this issue with a lot of Kia models not just the Stinger. but had no resolution for it.

I have not had any volume or speaker quirks on my car since hitting the reset button. I've only had some Bluetooth connectivity issues for media, but that is more likely a phone/car handshake issue. A reset button press fixes that issue too, or restarting the car.

Your not plugging in your phone before starting the car are you. I found it doesn't like that. Haven't had any problems since I started starting the car first before plugging the phone in.

I need a better description of where this reset button is, I guess! LOL

I always plug in my phone to the USB before starting the car, I don't believe that's related to the issue.

If I plug my phone in before starting the car, I usually (but not always) either get a locked up situation or no sound until I unplug the phone and replug it in. Did it on both my GT and GT2.
