Guy's I'm new to the forum and have posted three times about 2.0L power mod.s with no response. What am I doing wrong or is it "no love for the 2.0L crowd"? Has anyone tuned their 2.0L? Some input Pleaseee! Which tune, results and your suggestions. Thanks

"no love for the 2.0L crowd"?

It's not that there's "no love", but (in general) people who buy the 2.0 in the USA or AUS aren't looking for performance, so there aren't many products and options available. If you're in another country, there may be local options, but you would need to specify where you are located.

2.0 owner here. Have K&N intake and will likely be getting an exhaust soon (leaning toward JunBL EVC). No tune yet, but considering it. The intake and exhaust might buy a little extra power, but they’re more for fun sound than anything else. There’s loads of other mods you can get for 2.0 like bigger intercooler, throttle body, catless or HFC primary downpipe, BOVs, etc, just gotta shop around.

Something like a JB4 will be your best bang for buck if you want cheap hp increase. There’s several 2.0 owners with tunes, but I’ve not really seen hard #’s on what specific increases they’ve gotten with them. BMS advertises up to 100hp increase with JB4, tho I’d have to imagine 2.0’s get half that at best.

I think you can get maybe halfway between 2.0 and GT performance with a couple grand invested, which is not too shabby. But any more $$ than that and you gotta start asking if it wouldn’t be better to roll that into an upgrayedd to a GT. It’s up to you on where that line is.

I think I remember TWO other members who have added tunes to their 2.0L. One is in Germany, iirc. :P The other (months on months ago) posted about a dragstrip experience.

Consider a BMS pedal tuner. Doesn’t give you more power but does make what power you have available quicker. Look it up. Good luck.

Thanks for all the input. I love my base Stinger and just want to add my own touch to personalize it. I've added 19" wheels, Injen intake, spoiler and debadged. A little more power will be next and some ground effects. I think that's it but who knows! Thanks all

Thanks for all the input. Bought the base Stinger for comfort on the road, good gas mileage plus I love the styling. Currently in the process of personalizing it to my taste. So far, debadged, 19'" Enkei Vulcan wheels, tires, spoiler, Injen intake and ground effects (finding the ground effects has been a real PITA). All that remains is upgrading the audio system, a tune and the suggested pedal programer. Still not sure which tune but leaning toward the JB4 and still open for suggestions. Saving the audio upgrade for last, that appears to be very time consuming. I'm an old guy working on my "Bucket list" with nothing better to do than spending time working on my vehicles. I am a true car enthusiast. Thanks All

Welcome to the 2.0 club!

This is a fairly complete list in this post. I edited the post below, to include only what I have installed. Only thing missing is a FMIC. Only one I know of (and have) for the 2.0, is Maintec: Kia Stinger 2.0T Maintec Performance Intercooler Kit - KIA STINGER DOT COM

TStaino, Thanks good info are you happy with the results? I'm not planning on going as deep as you have but who knows? Thanks again

If you have a 2.0 we can't be friends. Sorry not sorry.
Jk we can be friends, but I will still think you bought the wrong engine for the right car. No matter what reasons are claimed.
As far as performance, there is a TON of stuff for that dinky little four banger. Get a tune, get an intake, straight pipe the exhaust and you have an rice rocket. Add WMI and e85 and maybe a FMIC and you will be very happy with your results. I still think that mod money is better spent an a real GT but to each thier own I guess.

You're welcome, let us know if we can be of assistance in any way!

Alphaspeed can tune the 2.0's the cool thing about the 2.0 is OBD tuning is possible already for them.

Contact Blood Type Racing or Alphaspeed. I believe you send in your ecu and they unlock it the rest you can do via OBD. I know they are doing another 2.0 stinger on friday.

Yea
