New Stinger Recall

Car Pros Kia.
Not to be rude their are multiple Car Pros located in Southern California. I honestly would call another KIA service center just to make sure that is the case and is not a Car Pros affiliate. At this rate we can’t just trust one service center as it relates to all and KIA specifically.

Kia dealer called today and said that the parts for this recall came in. Dealer said that part number has changed to 91KIT-J5USAQQK.

I picked up the parts and I was surprised. You now get a new fuse box cover with the 25A markings for the ESC fuses. You also get a new multi fuse with replaceable 25A fuses.

So it looks like all you have to do is replace the multi fuse and you're done. No fuse box removal, cutting or splicing.

This new method should have been done in the beginning. The parts are cheaper than paying the dealers to cut up the old fuses.

I paid $5 for all of these parts.

These new parts make this recall an extremely easy one to do it yourself.

Wow that is much an easier approach compare to the old one!

That's great. Glad I waited!

Where/how did you pay $5? I'm seeing ~$17 + $8 shipping online.

You can try ordering the old $5 part 91KIT-J525LQQK and hope that they send you the new part without charging you extra.

The parts guys most likely won't know the difference. They will usually give you the new part.

Or you may get the old part.

Changed the multi fuse tonight. Car drove fine afterwards.

Finally a clean and simple solution. I wonder if the new MY22's have this piggy back fuse setup from the factory and that's why this became available along with the re-printed fuse box cover. Thanks KIA for turning a 8 page TSB into a single sided one pager.

Thanks for the post! I'm approaching 2 months waiting on the dealer, and prefer avoiding them doing any service, so this is perfect. Ordered mine, $27 after shipping.

Where did you order from? I ordered from kia.parts, IIRC, and they canceled it after a couple of days because it's a recall part.

Not cancelled yet, but it's a three day weekend...

Do these need to be ordered from a dealer? And... if so, why?

The pending credit charge never got confirmed and ended up never being charged, which tells me they've abandoned my order but not told me yet. Any luck/progress with your order?

Looks similar here - a week and still "in progress".
