New Stinger Recall

Update:
So I was at the dealer waiting cause I had nothing else to do and it was not a big deal for me to wait around. Car dropped of at 8 advisor said the whole day okay whatever it is not that big of a deal. Then I kept seeing all these people stay for like 30-45 min and then they drive off with their car. 4 comes around have not seen my advisor like all day so I said let me go ask someone. This kid comes out and says oh let me go check. Come back and says I have bad news. We barely just brought the car in. Uhm what?!?! Yes and we will need to keep it overnight and majority of the day tomorrow. Told him give me my car back and left. If anyone knows a halfway decent KIA service center to get this damn recall done in the Southern California area specifically in the Inland Empire please let me know.

These stories are just amazingly bad. To show contrast with a real Kia dealer and service center, the kind that Kia is trying to build: James came out to me three times to tell me the progress on my car (getting an oil change and main points inspection, plus the TSB work done); it took less than the two hours that he said they were allowing. As he escorted me to my car, he said, as always, "If Kia asks you to participate in a customer satisfaction survey, remember that anything but top scores in any of the questions we consider a fail." One of the questions specifically asks: "Did the rep keep you informed on the progress of your service?" And so far, I've given them top scores in every question; this "honeymoon" has been going on for three years.

Do you ever get the Kia customer satisfaction survey in your Inbox? From your story, that service center would get roasted, and deservedly so.

Same here. . I get a survey and I have actually gotten a call from both the service manager and a customer service person from kia corporate because I answered a question honestly about not being kept informed even though the service was done on time. Was told the same thing about failing and getting docked for not getting a score above a certain number. Telluride and stinger owners get special surveys at least at our dealers to make sure we are happy with everything. Amazing service so far for my oil changes and recall service And initial tint replacement on a window that was scratched .

Glad that you have been great service! I would never wish anything bad on anyone and generally happy for you. Maybe this was a one time thing. But I literally purchased the car in Jan and this was the first time I had to deal with the service center. I was kind of scared to even schedule the recall cause all of the horror stories that I have read.

On the survey note when i scheduled my appointment about 2-3 weeks ago I did receive a email from from a worker from that dealership asking for feedback on my visit. So after reading your post I found that email and replied directly to it explaining everything that happened. So I am curious to see how they handle this situation. I am not that guy to complain unless it is warranted and this was one of those moments.

Well I just sent a email to the customer service rep directly and a complaint to KIA corporate. Maybe it is just a California issue idk. But I see you and the other member have had zero issues and I am happy for you guys. It just blows my mind the first time in a KIA service center and it goes like this. I am just curious if people do reach out to me or if they just ignore the situation.

It does seem to be a issue at several dealers other members have experienced. I am definitely lucky to have a good dealer.

You must be talking about Citrus Motors Kia. I bought my car from them. Never been there for service though.

Even if he is so-called "busy" I am damn sure not seeing in Stingers here at the moment for the recall ahahaha. Unfortunately, I am a service center that shares it with KIA and Ford.

Good, you spoke out. That is why Kia has those surveys. Corporation wants to improve the customer experience. They want feedback. Customers that go away disappointed, even angry, are death to Kia: and also, those customers have nobody to blame but themselves if nothing improves: honest feedback will affect improvements.

Took my car in for service today. Oil change and inspection. Little over an hour wait time. Only Kia dealer close to me with next one an hour drive away. Have around 30K on the car and with the exception of engine replacement that took over a month - warranty repacement (COVID kept from getting engine delivered) I have had nothing but "good" experiences.

They have a my22 dark grey GT2 that they tried to get me in but price a little too steep for now.....GOD it was nice. love the new infotainment screen. They told me it would be around June before they could do that latest recall. I just said if it catches on fire before then, I'll be looking for them.....;)

Sorry you guys are having so many issues with Kia dealers. I must be one of the lucky ones......

Quick version: it started running like shit and had it towed to the dealer. I was running jb4 but kept it at map 2. After I picked it up, service mgr. said it was a failed rod.....?? even though it ran like shit, for me, a failed rod would have kept the engine from running at all.....

Anyway, new runs better than when brand new!!! not sure if 2.0 went through a slight design change since buying my 2018 but it consistently hits 18 psi boost stock!!! I have jb4 connected mainly for monitoring engine. map 0 but from time to time, I will let it loose on 2. Plan on upgrading so want the engine to be on its "best behavior" for trade in.
