New Intake

[Stinger GT SS]

Ordered my AFE intake sometime in May, just got delivered today. Initial quality is very impressive. Everything has a good finish, clamps are name brand, and it's fresh out of the mold. The NPT hole actually is a metal insert that's molded into the elbow!! I didn't realize it has little caps on the back of the boxes, so you can open them up if you want more noise.
Haven't installed - it's really f'n hot out - so no idea if they actually fit.

Intakes came a day earlier. Surprised and stoked. Unfortunately at work today so I’ll have to hold off until tomorrow . Gf sent a pic to me. To all my dads on the forum happy Father’s Day.

I went to go get my Afe takeda intakes installed and was totally bummed out but grateful for the inspection and eye catching mechanics of Mark Russell (fastest stock stinger) and David Chung( lap3 600 hp big turbo) DMV KDM. When the stock air boxes were pulled out these two discovered coolant everywhere and both turbos that look like this smh‍ . At this point I can’t win with any car and I’m completely stock (19 Gt Awd). Before this it was the q50 rs. I love going fast but the cost to play is something serious, time consuming and frustrating. What a blower smh. Currently at koons kia of Woodbridge. At this point I might part out. ONE thing I want and need is reliability and that has not been the case. Fourth time out here since I got the car in Feb. Ridiculous smh. So fed up .

Slap the stock boxes back in there and get them warrantied!

Warranty still in tact but hearing all these horror stories from different Kia dealerships they could have the car for months smh.

Exactly what they suggested and we did. Glad they caught that right now instead of down the line.

well your car still functions normally like before you knew they where bad. you could probably convince them to let you keep the car while the parts are on order and only drop it off when you have a scheduled time to replace them.

Check this out . Here at koons Kia right now . Service manager just spoke with me and said something got inside the turbo and my warranty won’t cover it. If they don’t honor the warranty for these turbos I’m parting out today and selling it. They not f*cking me over like this . They got the right one . The service tech manager said it was caused by modifications and I’m like what mods ? I’m stock besides cosmetic work. Let them keep playing. The service manger took pics and sent it to Kia corporate.

Two previous owners. One thing the Guys did notice who saw the turbos was the ecu had been f&*%ed with which is a clear sign someone modded it prior to me getting it.

So here's the real question. Did you buy it from the Woodbridge Kia as CPO? The problem here is that normally they need to prove that mods caused the damage. But if they sold the car CPO they can claim the damage (and mods including the ECU fuckery) happened after they sold the car to you since you didn't notice the damage at delivery. Unfortunately this shit seems to be happening a lot lately because dealers are just trying to turn used cars around as quick as possible without actually doing any form of real checks on the vehicles and just calling them "certified". I think the only way you would be able to defend yourself on this is if they have full records and what they did with the car after they claimed ownership of it from the previous owner, to when you bought the car. And unfortunately, that turns into a legal battle.

even if not CPO, you should still have the reminder of the factory warranty, so your turbos should be covered until 60K at least. Sounds like you need to find a dealer that is not shit.

If they continue giving you a hard time, you might want to check out Dulles Kia. I've heard some good things about them. Recently sent someone else there that was getting the run around from Ourisman in Chantilly because they had a regular shop (non Kia) replace some harness so Ourisman said "We're not touching it!". Dulles took care of it without question. This case might be a bit different since there's evidence of ECU tampering so I can't promise anything.
