So here's the real question. Did you buy it from the Woodbridge Kia as CPO? The problem here is that normally they need to prove that
mods caused the damage. But if they sold the car CPO they can claim the damage (and
mods including the ECU fuckery) happened after they sold the car to you since you didn't notice the damage at delivery. Unfortunately this shit seems to be happening a lot lately because dealers are just trying to turn used cars around as quick as possible without actually doing any form of real checks on the vehicles and just calling them "certified". I think the only way you would be able to defend yourself on this is if they have full records and what they did with the car after they claimed ownership of it from the previous owner, to when you bought the car. And unfortunately, that turns into a legal battle.
