Never had a car that turned so many heads.

My granddaughter, who is very familiar with my GT1, sort of did a doubletake yesterday when I pulled into their driveway; she stared thoughtfully at my car than said, "Grandpa, your car makes you look rich." Her eight-year-old female aesthetics are already well-developed, when she notices how different their driveway looks with my Gran Turismo sitting there instead of their mini van. :D (Out of the mouth of babes: Kia knows they knocked this one out of the park, with that kind of endorsement.)
I was driving to my daughters the other day, I was in my hubby’s Cerato hatch, looking into the rear view mirror I see a vision of beauty coming up. It was a twin Sonic.
The shape and lowness of it makes you check twice because it could almost pass for looking like an exotic from a distance.

Haha smart young lady! :D

Went to a restaurant today to do a curbside pickup of a takeout order. The waitress brought out the food and just couldn’t get over that the car was a Kia. She was looking it all over and chatted with me about it for several minutes. She said that she never thought Kia made cars that looked like this!

Parked in front of my favorite Chinese restaurant today and ran in to pick up food. Took maybe 5 minutes but by the time I exited the restaurant, there was a group of chatty “vultures” circling the car lol. Took another 10-15 minutes to leave after a quick explanation on its history

I had an older gentleman tell me today that I have one of the best race looking 4 door car he’s ever seen.

Probably a guy like me who had some ungodly fast cars back in the day.. I’ve always liked cars, and the Stinger is one of the nicest ones I’ve seen in quite a while.

Drove to Wallington to get dog food, they have gated the entrance to the car park off so you have to “ check in “ doing the QR code and then go around to get in the car park from the opposite end.
As I approached the check in entrance, a young man , late teens/ early twenties said “ ow, nice car “

Went to the local high school to walk the track yesterday with my girlfriend. A little kid, no more than 4 years old, is learning to ride a bike in the parking lot. As I get out of the car, he yells across the lot "that's a nice car!". Made my day. Kids that young don't usually notice cars unless they're in-your-face bright colored exotic cars. He noticed my black stinger. Pretty cool kid if you ask me.

Had a dude driving a Beamer almost drool on my Stinger yesterday. He was very interested. I didn't buy it to impress people. I don't care what anybody thinks about what I drive. I bought it because I think its the best combination of appearance and performance that I've seen in a while (that I can afford), but its cool to get a little attention.

I pulled up to my local coffee shop and this mid 20s couple is sitting outside. They say might be a stupid question, but is that car fast". I think they were looking to buy one. Nice conversation piece lol.

My barber saw my car yesterday when I was driving with my gf to the local mall. He made a joke about making me pay full price for my haircuts in the future now that I drive a Maserati. I showed him it was a Kia (steering wheel badge) and he couldn't believe it! I told him that his 440i convertible was far more expensive than my base model GT haha! We spent a minute on cars.com on his phone. He said he had no idea what the heck a Stinger was and felt crazy picking up a BMW. I think if Kia decides to make the Stinger in a coupe or convertible they might get more sales. All of his cars have been convertibles since he lives down in south Florida. :p

I went to pickup food from a kabob restaurant that literally did "curbside pickup", that is guys picking up had to line up their vehicles on the curb at the front of the place and wait for their food.

There were 3 cars ahead of me, and i noticed the same employee was the one handing out the orders to all 3. She was a short teen with the restaurant's logo on her cap and shirt, so i figured she worked the register. Thought to myself, they must be understaffed, thats why the food's taking so long.

When it was finally my turn, i moved my stinger in front of their front door, and 30 secs after a man in a suit brought out my order, he was the restaurant manager. He then proceeded to bombard me with questions about the car (year model, hp tq figures, any problems, etc) for about 10 mins.

Afterwards he told me' "Apologize for all the questions, sweet ride brother!" Guess he really had to talk to me about the Stinger! Lol

Should have swapped business cards and got a free meal out of it! :p

Perhaps, but i was not even prepared to get out of the car, let alone talk to a manager. I just wanted my lunch!

And im not certain they have that sort of policy. Id have to check next time i go there.

As I came out of the alphabet store the other day I noticed a couple had just finished circling my girl. I started heading in that direction and they made a beeline for me. I wasn't even close to the car when they asked if it was mine, and then proceeded to walk me back to her while asking all the usual questions. I could tell they knew a little about it and when I said it was also a twin turbo, he said "Oh I know, my wife and I really like fast cars." and proceeded to give her a little slap on the ass. Pretty sure they were both turned on by the car.

Not sure about the rest of you all but I find these random encounters really help with the kia-rrhea that comes with the car.

I was just getting in my car at Costco and a Baby Boomer pulls up on an Indian motor cycle (his helmet looked like carbon fiber, a detail I noticed for some reason), and he asks, "Is that that new souped-up Kia?" He remembered hearing about it in a TV ad; so, there you go, Kia advertising does work. :P

I was sitting in my Stinger yesterday in the parking lot of a local small town grocery store (waiting for my wife), when an elderly gentleman approached said he really liked my car. He asked if it was fast and asked where I got it.
Short encounter, but nice that people are impressed.

I've been getting a lot of looks on mine.

The funny thing is most of the guys that really seem into it are middle aged white guys like me :)

Apparently it appeals to those of us looking for fun and practical combined

I also finally ran into another Stinger owner at a longos. He asked me where I got the stock black rims. He was quite surprised how cheap it is to get the rims powder coated.

Thinking of getting mine powder coated too…

They look so much better in gloss black.
