Never had a car that turned so many heads.

I didn't get a lot of attention from cops in my other cars. I think my stinger will change that. A radar detector is very useful to have here in CA.

Did you do something on your way into the car wash that would be classified as acting like a douche? Not suggesting that you did - I just can't fathom why someone would say that to you for driving a Stinger.

Back on the original topic, I've probably had more people come talk to me about the Stinger than all of 40 years worth of my previous cars combined. Most of them were nothing special, but there was an old Porsche 928 and my current Solstice in the mix. This thing just gets a ton of attention. So far, mine has all been positive.
I don't hoon around on the roads, but especially in neighborhoods, the way to the car wash is in a neighborhood. I drove completely normally and he came in quite a bit after me anyways. I was just sitting in the waiting room just checking some texts on my phone, he walked in and talked to the manager and then went to sit down, looked out the window into the bay and noticed my car and then asked if it was mine, I said yes and then he called me a douche. No prior interaction whatsoever. I genuinely don't know why he felt that way. If they hadn't called me out to my car right after he said it I would have tried to figure out why he felt that way.

Maybe you misheard the guy. Might have said "revved up like a deuce".

Had a gentleman in an Audi A4 with Florida plates pull up to me at a light in Long Beach, CA this weekend.

"Excuse me, what kind of car is that?"
"It's a Kia Stinger."
"That's a Kia??"
"Yeah, I get that reaction all the time."
"Wow, that's a sharp-looking car. I saw Stinger on the back and thought it was one of those hypercars."

This was the first time anyone has ever mistaken my sub-$40K Stinger GT for a million-dollar hypercar.

On a road trip last summer, a guy asking about my car at a fuel stop said, "I wondered if it might be that new Jag." I didn't ask, and have no idea which model Jag he was thinking of.:P

Yeah my brother thought it was a Maserati when he first saw it.

Last summer I was on the way to my dad's cottage with my dad and my kids, and we were closing in on an old Corvette stingray, the kind with the split window in the back, it was in great shape, and the passenger, an attractive Asian woman took out her camera and started taking pictures of my Stinger as we were passing them slowly, on the right.
I gave her the thumbs-up sign as we went by them.
My Stinger is atomic blue and has all the Kia badges removed and the E badges installed on the front and on the wheelcaps (not that anyone would notice the wheelcaps while traveling at speed) and the large Stinger script on the back. It also has an E badge on the C-pillar (ala Maserati Quattroporte) that I added on both sides.
Most people don't know what it is.

I just traded my blue 2018 2.0 Premium for 2020 Ceramic grey GT1. I can honestly never remember anyone going out of their way to ask me about the 2.0. But on the way home from the dealer after picking up my GT1 I stopped at Walmart to get some groceries. I had been in the store probably 15 minutes and this guy comes up to me asking if that is my car and asking all sorts of questions about it and where I got it. I talked to the guy for probably 5 minutes about the car. So morale of the story, GT > Premium 2.0 in more ways than one lol, or maybe it is the cool Ceramic grey color.

Coincidence only, to reinforce the pleasure of your upgrade. The 2.0L outwardly is every bit the looker of the GT trims.

I've actually had more people tell me they like my blue better than the ceramic grey!
I originally wanted the grey but my wife convinced me to get something that would stand out from the usual sea of black, white and grey cars on the road.
My car doesn't look so good when it's dirty though, whereas the grey hides the dirt better.

I like both colors, but I had almost the same color blue on my Camaro before the Stinger so when it was time to upgrade to a GT I was ready for something different. Red was also high on my list. The funny thing is according to the Kia configurator site my new car shouldn't exist. Ceramic Silver is not supposed to be available on a 2020 GT1.

Strange, I just saw my local dealer had a CS GT1 with red interior as I went to pick up my plate. They definitely exist. Probably a bug with their site.

Yeah probably, if you try to build a ceramic silver one on the site it tells you that you to pick a GT2.
