Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

"No updates are currently available" was what I saw when I visited the site in June. Then some of you all saw differently and tried ordering, I reckon. Now it's back to "not available"; how long it's been like this I can't tell from following this thread. The July "availability" of 14.5 obviously went south, for whatever complex of reasons. I bet that Kia Corp are pulling their hair out over this fubar.

I'm wondering how the release dates of mobile OS updates such as iOS 14 affects this. I understand that iOS 14 is to include major changes.

I give up.

My $52,000 Stinger GT2 has no navigation. MapnSoft has been giving me the run around and KIA Consumer Affairs is useless. Case manager ghosted me, and as always the dealers are F'ing useless.

Anybody have any tips here? Pretty tired of trying to download, unzip, copy and paste the same files only to have the same issues.
Is your Stinger a 2019 or 2020? If so, did you try the files I uploaded to Icedrive? After you unzip the files (7zip works) and copy them to your SD card the file structure on the card should look like the attached photo.

If you've done that I don't know what else to try.

Mine is a 2018 GT2. I downloaded the 2018 files from a Stinger Group Member on FB.
I have dragged the files directly onto the SD card. The file structure matches the screenshot you have.

I am meeting a local member tonight as he has an an older Nav card that he is no longer using. I love this community!

I was afraid that you had a 2018. I, and at least one other member, managed to d/l the 2018 files but they don't work for some unknown reason. I'm glad you found a local member who has a spare card. FWIW, when I did this I used a spare card. I wanted to keep the original in case there was a problem. I've just been bitten by 'bugs' too many times.

I notice that you have a 'Text.Info' folder on your card. Did you look inside of that? Perhaps there's a log file that might tell you what went wrong. I doubt it will help much, but it's worth a look.

I'm in the process of uploading the whole package for the 2019-2020 Stingers to a sharing site. I've gone through every folder and the only copyright files I'm finding are for what appears to be the software that was used to create the overall package. They're all variations of open source and/or no warranty statements. All of them allow copying and distribution of the software as long as the copyright notices are included, which they are. I can't find any copyright that mentions Hyundai or Kia.

If this creates a problem for anyone, especially the moderators, please let me know and I won't post the link.

The files won't be finished uploading for a couple of hours or so. My upload speeds are not that fast. I've zipped the files into a multipart zip archive. Each file is 500MB and the total is just over 17GB.

So I've tried this a couple times on a couple differnt computers and get this error while attempting to unzip
Screenshot 2020-08-05 20.34.23.webp

Both times same error with the 1st and 28th file.

Thanks John. I was able to link up with the local member. Popped the SD in and my Navi popped right up. Just in time for our road trip tomorrow!
Not that I use it, but I do like to have a GOS system as backup.
My plan is to just wait for the release now. I will check the text file and see if there’s any hints as to what went wrong.

Figured it out
what was the issue, I've downloaded this thing 3 times. 7 zip and windows zip both error out. Not sure why they keep getting so corrupted.

That's odd. I haven't made any changes to the archive since I uploaded it.

You might try 7zip (free) and see if that works. Others have had success with it.

Updated on the way to work this morning. Seems to be working ok....except my satellite radio all of a sudden said "no signal" when I was close to work. Went to sirius xm website and had the signal re-sent to the radio. We'll see if it works when I leave.

I do like the new map graphics though.....

Are you certain that you've downloaded all of the files? There's one with a .zip extension and the others are .z01 through .z35 for a total of 36 files. David's problem is that he didn't use all of the files. All of the '.zxx' files should be 512,000 KB and the .zip file should be 286,073 KB.

Yea, took a little trial and error....

Cliff notes download instructions:

Download all 36 files from the site (35 files .z01-.z35 + the .zip file) to one folder

Unzip ONLY the .zip file. It should defaul to unzip to a new folder 2019_20StingerUSA or whatever it is called).

Copy those files onto your sd card.....

Finally. Figured it out. Like every other extraction, I normally just extract to folder open archive, or even extract here. Only when I tried "Open archive > zip" it finally started working. Everything else would extract 2.5ish gigs and then error out. Now I can finally try this out.

Tomorrow is August 10th. Any bets?

The map site says mid-August release for 14.5 for me. Could be anytime between tomorrow and the 20th.
In a previous post, @Callum reported he was told August 10th was the release date.

im downloading something right now, unable to preview the version but the Navi updated looks more refined.
Will update shortly

Ok. So the application now works, but the update is still corrupt lol.
It allows you to do a full install on the SD card. Yet again another hour and half spent f’ing with this.

I absolutely do not understand why KIA has such a hard time with this.
