Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

A lot of times, I drive with my phone in my pocket and listen to music over Bluetooth. I’m hoping the album art shows up because the stock screen looks meh during playback.

I think wireless Android Auto could easily be made available on the Stinger by the programmers. The tablet it uses as its platform is completely capable but the functionality is crippled down to facilitate only the functions they want to use. If you look at the hacks to interface the actual OS it is essentially just running a program inside the android OS.
Its only a question of what they want to put the resources into. Im almost positive its capable of bluetooth and wifi already its only certain countries that have the LTE capability and I believe that is for the UVO features.

They would have to add WiFi support to the head unit for it to work.

I think he is stating he believes the headunit does in fact support wifi. I do recall seeing some posts where people had wifi options or settings on the headunit that were removed in one of the updates. Would be cool, but I will not be holding my breath for wireless AA

It would be an amazing upgrade, but like you I'm doubtful it's going to happen

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Im 99% certain it has wifi support already, there is a hack to get at the actual shell OS for tech purposes.
The wifi is there just not supported through the actual KIA program that runs on it. The bluetooth is there as well, that what allows you to stream audio from external source. I think Android Auto has a lock down on what it supports for platforms as well, they want to make sure the wireless charging can keep up with power usage of wireless Android Auto. I think 2 amps is the minimum.

Just checked the site and it seems you can order it now but shipping for us Canadians start at 21 + 30 for the card.

Also it seems they're splitting the download maps and the buying a physical map update. The main one to buy the physical media and to download via Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website it seems like they're still setting things up but hopefully we can just download v.14 once that site is finished.

Just wait for the download... there doesn't appear to be anything remarkable enough to pay for it to get it a couple of weeks earlier

They already confirmed to me that 14 will NOT be available for download.
14.5 will be available for download - Target ETA=July

Ah, I now see a "My Cart" link (maybe I missed it before?), but it's empty, and I can't re-add to it: "No updates are currently available". Here's hoping come April 27, I can get an update for $30 instead of $149 + $30..

The process is a little wacky... it walks you through it like a purchase (I kept waiting for them to ask my CC) then you get a message that tells you that you qualify for a free upgrade...

Ya my cart is there now as well, Im also not interested in spending the 30 plus 21 for something that will be free in July.
Not worth it IMHO.

I see the following now on the mapnsoft page:

WELCOME TO RE-DESIGNED MNSOFT WEBSITE - THE OFFICIAL KIA MAP UPDATE PROVIDER. MAP VERSION 14 WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING APRIL 27THFOR MOST MODELS. A DOWNLOAD OPTION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MAY 15TH. NOTE: DOWNLOAD OPTION NOT AVAILABLE FOR ALL MODELS.

Hopefully the May 15th date for the download sticks.

lol thats new...it said July 15th before and it said V14 is only available through shipping and purchase of a new card.
Good news indeed!

Depending on which site and direction you get to the sites there seems to be 3 you get a different message and information.

Still not available.

Also I was looking on the install instruction and it says if you are on a newer MAP version then NA.11.41.52 V12 you will only get the map update.

No new features are updated.

Can anyone confirm this?

Without the updates I don't think this update is worth it unless you really use the navigation feature heavily...

Thank you
