3.3TT Mishimoto's Stinger GT Intercooler Kit R&D Thread

Shipping should start next week, if all goes well. :)

Yeah, no way this Mishi intercooler is going to play nice with the JT intakes. At least it certainly doesn't look like it in these two pictures... Bummer. I'm really interested to see what happens when you JT guys try to get this installed. Hopefully it "just" fits and I can get my JT order in soon enough. Anyone got a "next best" suggestion for an intake just in case? I'm guessing the Injens in terms of intake size, but the K&N and AEM intakes seem to offer somewhat decent insulation from the engine temps. So, cooler intake temps or more volume? Not sure what's gonna be best yet.

Wonder if you use the JT CAI, cold and merge pipe and use the mishimoto IC and hot side?

Mishimoto guys
Can you please give your opinion on this question?
Many of us have this intake kit.

A question just occurred to me. What MAF calibration will be needed for the larger charge pipe?

Is this something a JT intake owner with the 3” charge pipe has already dialed in?

Might be a @Terry@BMS or N54 question.

No MAF sensor on our cars

Right, my mistake, MAP sensor. But my question stands with the MAP sensor and the larger volume tube.

It isn't needed but depending on your power level you may have to increase the airflow limits in the ECU.

After I filled my brain all night looking at MAP sensor function, the tables use air pressure and temperature to calculate density and introduce fuel according to engine speed. So the tubing size isn’t as important.

But with a second MAP sensor (TMAP) pre throttle body on the charge pipe, depending on its function, there might be an effect. My guess is that it has more to do with the blow off though. Couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for on the BMS forum.

That is correct!

Provided that the coupler angles match up, I don't see why not. We did a test fit an intake kit with a similar design to the JT system with our intercooler kit installed and didn't run into any issues.
