Made the jump from RaceChip to JB4

Nice - just received my intakes. Looking forward to the sound and extra torque.

What intake did you get? You'll love the sound and hear the turbo spool when you let off the gas:D

I got the BMS - hopefully I won't regret it. The dyno's don't lie though, or do they lol ? They could just be noise makers, but even then I would enjoy them.

Our intake is awesome, you'll love it. :)

Ok so I just installed the bms intakes. Not the best fitment and not sure what I feel is normal. 40 percent or more throttle is starts to hesitate under acceleration. The rpms dance a little or pulsates. I'm regretting the install @Terry@BMS

I will take a video later to see if I can show what I mean. It's subtle but still disconcerting. It's not all over the place but I can hear the engine cut out a little and I see the tac struggle a little moving up. It's only under heavy throttle.

Takes some adaption runs for the ECU to adapt WGDC to higher flowing intakes.

Think you were right. After starting the car again it seems to be doing a lot better.

Still don't like the fitment of the plumbing though. Me and my father almost thought BMS sent us the wrong package. No instructions inside the box and the PDF is no longer accessible on their site (dead link).

Obviously it is about price - for 150 dollars more the injen intakes likely would had been better fit with its plumbing. The thin aluminum also has a tin-ey sound effect.

Should have emailed us for the guide, new website this week. Link must have been overlooked.

Takes awhile getting use to the sound of air getting sucked in. I was honestly just looking forward to hearing the blow-off sound but the sucking in air during spool up is crazy!

The passenger side does not seem right to me and we had to zip tie it to brace it. Did we need to remove that OEM elbow?

I was shocked when I saw the pieces and to see how much it reuses the stock OEM plumping. This can't be the greatest ideal solution for air flow.

Maybe I’m wrong but don’t the cones have to face the other way with the bms intakes... maybe you installed wrong

The cones are facing the right direction - towards the heat shield and towards the engine. It's likely the angle I took the pic.

Though I think you lead me to the correct way to installing it. The OEM elbow likely has to be turned.

It is. The factory lower piping isn't restrictive at all and a headache to swap. Install guide link is fixed on the site so refer to that for install reference photos.

Thanks! It looks like the stock elbow comes off on the passenger side. Does it matter if I leave it on? Will it have any adverse effects other than the weird fitment?

Both factory elbows are used as shown in the install guide. The intake tube attaches to the heat shield which then attaches to factory airbox bottom.

Thank you for all your help! Really makes a difference.

Sounds like a little normal WGDC oscillation that the ECU will need to learn out. Also with an intake you're going to hear a lot of noises that were there all along only muffled by the restrictive factory airbox.

Ok that's relieving. Half throttle now can really suck some gas. I feathered it to work (normal driving for most) and got around 20-21mpg. Just as long as I stay between 1.5-2.5RPM. Anything more that sucking sound is actually coming from my wallet.

I don't know why people say intakes save gas. This one is doing the opposite.

Maybe Ill try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for a few minutes to see if the ECU will adjust to the new intake quicker.
