So I have a question. What would be the pros vs cons of getting a 1.4 tune for 91 octane and actually using 93 w e85?
1.4 91 tune can probably give you almost zero timing pull with 93. If you can do ethanol mix all the time then it’s pretty meaningless to do a 91 tune. 93 with e30 mix should make 93 tune super happy. So I have a question. I don’t think it has anything to do with boost ready. Lots of log on this thread has fairly close ecu boost and boost2 numbers. It’s really weird how his boost2 reading being that high. For logging, a bluetooth obd2 scanning pairing with the app “car scanner pro” is able to log timing pull for each cylinder. Once you see a fairly low or even no timing pull, steady afr, map and calculated boost then there’s nothing to worry about. It’s always important to check the log for canned tune like this. I’m really missing the ecutek days for my boosted 370z but this is all our platform has.I recently saw that Twn2rbro, on YouTube, and others here have been getting overboost issues from the ECU tunes. Is that something that may be caused by the boost ready function being on? If so, I may be inclined to order it without it on.
Also, could I get overboost issues on a 1.3 bar tune since it’s more conservative? I don’t have a JB4 to log, so I’m worried about getting this tune and not knowing I’m having overboost till it’s too late.
I have a 1.4bar 93 octane lozic tune. Under WOT I see 20-21lbs of boost, with having seen a "Spike" go to 23lbs once, and only once. Considering how much "logging" ive done to try and get my tune just right (That's another story that doesn't need to be told, but lozic has been amazing to work with and not only is super knowledgeable but is also totally willing to make any revisions requested of him, as long as its physically possible)I recently saw that Twn2rbro, on YouTube, and others here have been getting overboost issues from the ECU tunes. The hard part will just be getting people on board.^^^^ this! JB4 first, then tune down the road. take it one step at a time!
Other option is Sxth and their EK1 Pro device. They have a few tunes and logging capabilities I think. Sxth may turn out to be the best tuning solution for the stinger at the end of the day.
The Jb4 only polls data every half second or so. I routinely do 10-80mph logs and the logs only usually display up to about 65mph of data recorded. Its one of the reasons that Terry has said that the 0-60 times listed in the JB4 shouldn't be trusted. All of you with lozic and JB4.. could you check a random log and see if mph is way off.. I have had three tunes and all three has mph in JB4 way lower than actual. The factory ECU is right on with JB4. So I have a guess to why. But wanted to ask here first
dial it in with map 6, as from what I have seen overall and from what lozic has told me, 1.4bar is probably the safest you should really go even on good quality 91. If you wanna go faster, time for WMI.I have a 1.4 Bar on 91 octane and my tune is at 19psi at WOT and tapered to 17-18psi at higher rpm. Just in case anyone needed to know the 91octane boost curve.
Im in the opposite boat as Twn2rbo.. I’m trying to get a little more power.. so trying to decide if it’s worth it to get a retune or just use map6 to dial it in.
I definitely get that from 0-60 etc.The Jb4 only polls data every half second or so. I routinely do 10-80mph logs and the logs only usually display up to about 65mph of data recorded. Its one of the reasons that Terry has said that the 0-60 times listed in the JB4 shouldn't be trusted.
I’m thinking CPI as my next mod. Wonder if I’ll still need a retune? Or all map6 still.dial it in with map 6, as from what I have seen overall and from what lozic has told me, 1.4bar is probably the safest you should really go even on good quality 91. If you wanna go faster, time for WMI.
was your car originally a 130mph governed car? All weather package 18 inch wheels.I definitely get that from 0-60 etc.
But Jb4 doing an 1/8 mile run with factory ECU would show me mph up to 90. With the lozic ECU and 1/8 mile Jb4 only makes it to about 80.
So i tested this yesterday. Pulled up Jb4 and chose speed as one of the gauges. Set cruise at 77 and Jb4 showed 62. So I switch Tuesday factory ECU and set the same cruise. It matched up perfectly. I have had three lozics tunes and all have been this way. So my guess is all of lozics tunes do this. Maybe to trick top speed governor?
Dials on the app. Not sure on package it originally waswas your car originally a 130mph governed car? All weather package 18 inch wheels.
Edit - when you say the JB4 shows 62, do you mean you swapped one of the dials on the app to show speed? or just referencing the logs?
how did you swap the dial on the app? I just looked through every setting on my JB4 app and dont see an option to do that.Dials on the app. Not sure on package it originally was
It’s called speedhow did you swap the dial on the app? I just looked through every setting on my JB4 app and dont see an option to do that.
Press and hold for a second or so on the dial you want to replace and then choose a new one from the list that shows up.how did you swap the dial on the app? I just looked through every setting on my JB4 app and dont see an option to do that.
Yeah, just double checked. Nowhere to be seen in my app. can you post a screenshot of where it is?It’s called speed
