Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

What was the easiest way for you to check it? How was doing the work yourself?
I followed the service manual level check procedure:

Also watched a video:

The guy in the video also uses AMS oil. I've liked their products for many years. The most time consuming part was getting the car level with 2 floor jacks and 2 jack stands

I'm gonna throw this out there because I think this is VERY important for everyone know.

Today I drained, refilled and level checked my transmission fluid. 3.5 quarts came out and I had to put 4 quarts in to get the correct level. I was a half quart low on transmission fluid!

It's BS that in the owners manual Kia states under "normal" conditions no check or service is required. And even when under severe conditions the fluid isn't checked/changed until 60,000 miles. I'm only at 37,000 miles and was already a half quart low.

So I went for a test drive after changing the fluids (I changed both diff's fluids as well) And let me tell you the only thing I could keep saying was WOW!

The shifts are lighting fast now. It felt like I was driving a different car. Anyone that has low miles or their fluid level is correct probably will not have the same experience I did.

If you have a TCU tune or I'm gonna go ahead and say if you are tuned period. Then I HIGHLY recommend that at minimum you check the fluid level of your transmission. If you are over 30K then replace the fluid. Or have the dealer or wherever you get your service take care of this ASAP.

Being tuned pushes the transmission well beyond Kia's severe service schedule. And with the TCU tune the oil pump runs at higher pressure. If the pump is being starved for fluid then the pump is going to burn out faster. Also if the pump is starved for fluid the transmission will not operate optimally.

I apologize for the long post but my goal was to keep everyone's Stinger running in optimum condition and give your transmission the best chance of a long life.
Super helpful. I was intending to take a look at mine at 30K just to be sure but I think I'll just have it checked out at 15K to be safe. Preventative maintenance is key, even if it turns out that car is running on schedule.

Love it! 1.4 is what I am Going for too and probably boost by mode D. Boost ready-on at 2500 RPM sounds perfect. I wasn’t aware he got it past 2,000. That’s awesome!
You can choose a custom spot for Boost ready. My re-tune is coming at 2200

I did the same with my boost ready at 2200, with any luck, I will be able to test it this week.

How would you describe boost ready before sending back for a retune? Sounds like you initially had it set to “All” which is what I’m still contemplating. Lozic suggested that I do not set to 2,500 which is what I was trying to do right from the start.

Anyone hit overboost a lot when running 1.5bar and having replaced downpipes with hfc, and deleted mid pipe cats?

No problems with my 1.5. No muffler, no secondaries, stock primaries

@GennyGuy has more experience than me here, as mine was the original form of boost ready and I was not a fan of it, so this new version im hoping will be significantly improved once I get my car back from warranty.

Personally however, I dident like how I could be cruising in eco mode at 1800rpm in 8th gear and be in a perpetual 4ish lbs of boost, which caused a drop in fuel economy, and it made a fluttering sound like a giant butterfly having a stroke. (Literally the best way I can describe it) Supposedly the new version no longer causes that sound. I chose 2200rpm cuz the boost will still ramp up quicker than stock, but I will be able to do 80mph on the highway and still not be in boost if I wanna go for better gas mileage. 80mph is somewhere between 2050 and 2150rpm in 8th gear. I figure if im any higher in the rev range, ill probably be mashing the pedal anyway, as cruising above 80 anywhere in the USA is begging for a ticket.

This is my first tune with boost ready. My original did not have it. I have not experienced it yet, the packaged arrived today. I'll be busy most of this weekend, so I won't have it in until probably Tuesday. Then I'm away for awhile on vaca. There's also the break-in period.

Unfortunately, I may not have any opinion until the end of the month.

On mine it seems when i set cruise control, boost ready is inactive so im not constantly building and blowing off boost at highway speeds

I can say that I chose 2200 for many of the same reasons. My logic is that factory launch is at 2300rpm and I don't want the surge until I'm ready to intentionally go fast. I also don't want it kicking into race mode when I'm just trying to merge onto the highway.

I’m also curious if you chose 2,500 for boost ready that the “factory” launch with boost will no longer kick in as well? (I know with TCU that it would not matter anyways)

I hope to try this soon. The rain and the cold don't want to leave.

Tell me about it. Weather has been dog chit since forever. Just momentarily it cleared, running an errand.. had a riced out lancer behind me with one non functioning headlight. Didnt want to risk losing gas on it.

Yep. I got overboost. As you can tell by my signature below, I have many of the mods you are describing. I’m trying to adjust FF on my JB4 (I have EWG wires) to help. Got to drop to 40 and work your way up. I have mine at 46 currently. Now that it is getting warmer out. I will be able to mess around more.

I went straight into the lozic tune brand new.

I just got a new TCU from him because my last one was before he knew how to program for sport+

...I didn't overboost today and it was way more stable than the other one.

Either torque limit is back on, or something was wonky with the tcu and it cause the wild behavior...my boost would skyrocket at the strangest times.

Also, posting made me realize I hadn't updated my signature in a while...

I’m glad it is better for you. Hopefully it continues.

Hi~

Long time no see.

Thank you for still loving Lozic.

Everything is going well.

We also want to increase the number of service items.

Currently, it takes 4-7 days to arrive in the US using UPS.

You inquired about which customers can order parts.

If you are looking for a part and it is difficult to procure locally, please request it to Lozic and we will send it to you.

Hyundai parts, Tuix parts, Kia parts, Tuon parts.

Thank you always.
