Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

I can second this. I’m running intakes/secondaries/catback and Tcu tune. Don’t have dragy data but the launch I recorded a few weeks ago I timed to be around 4.4-4.5 0-60. I also feel I can do better by perfecting the launch rpm/timing and waiting for some cooler weather.
How do you think you would do with the jb4 added? 0-60 wise.

I think some others have been testing this combo. With map 2/3 + TCU I’m sure you can do a sub 4 0-60s. I’m going lozic ecu in the future (likely 1.4 bar).

Stock car with TCU only

For those of you who may be interested in just the TCU with an otherwise stock car.. (no JB4/ECU etc..) I installed the TCU pressure 2, all else stock. Went out and did some driving and a few Dragy runs. I only had 20 minutes but here are my initial impressions. The Stock car is making good power and the TCU is holding back the show. Launches are much different from stock and the car gets out of the hole pretty quick. 0-60 in 4.3 on the first try. I'm positive this would be 4 flat with the right launch. The car feels more powerful everywhere. Shifting is more muted with the Stock ECU vs the Lozic ECU but still really good.

Once I drive it more, I'll add to this post.

Did you ever do a stock run to document the delta?

I have a run on phone when I was intake only from summer 2019. 0-60 was around 4.8-4.9.

Not back to back but I've done lots of stock runs and on average I would say 4.5 - 4.6 - several higher and a few lower. There is no doubt it would be consistently quicker.

After putting some miles on the TCU the annoying shift into 1st when coming to a stop that some reported doesn't occur like it used to in SPORT mode. It seems maybe the adaptives have reset to something more comfortable? I love the way the car drives now!

Good to hear! My TCU and ECU is traveling over the ocean now. I appreciate your feedback as it helps new Lozic users.

I think my ECU shipped with torque limits in place. I don't think it was intentional, so I'm going to request a fix tonight. Looking at @BadTrainDriver's 0-60 vs mine, it's pretty obvious...

What plugs are recommended for the ecu tune?
I have read you don’t need to change out your spark plugs with a Lozic ECU. However, since I have a JB4 I have Denso 5347s (2 step cold) gapped at 0.02

I just realized I also recently did the JB4 EWG wires and it claims "improve boost response, spool up, shifting performance, and overall feel"

So that probably helped too

Yep. I have those. Definitely invaluable. I got my NGT primaries delivered today. So those wires will help (although I did tune the ECU for downpipes added in preparation).

That isn't traction control intervening?
Does TC even engage with launch control? You need to disable traction and stability control to engage LC.

I mean, that was my first thought. I'm on the street with A/S tires (I'm AWD). But the car doesn't feel that fast off the line, then picks up at the first gear change. If it's perfect traction control, you'd see the car at the same acceleration rate the whole run max out at the limit of traction, but once the car shifts the acceleration rate picks up to ~1g, 2x the rate at launch, and remains >0.5g until about 50mph.

Bottom line is LC sucks. There's like a half second delay before things get going. I'm RWD and I'm considering the TCU. but on the other hand, I'm concerned about longevity. If the TCU hammers it off the line it could be rough on the trans. Also with RWD, I may have traction issues. I just put on Michelin PS4S on the the rears, 275x35 and I have no traction issues with Launch control now. Of course I'm running Meth, but I have 5 PSI boost cut in 1st gear. I need to mess with that some, but still, the delay is so bad. Frustrating.
