Lease offer

Sounds like you have already committed if your picking up the car tomorrow? If you have already agreed, I would not try to lower the deal. That's just me. We are only talking about $15.00 per month. The Residual would only change by 1%.
Ok. I just wanted to know if this same deal was going for $630 or so somewhere. Two questions: is the $6,500 lease incentive + $500 military + $3,600 from the dealer anstrong discount applied to the lease? And, does the dealer have the other 2K miles to add to the lease without raising the lease payments in a lease through Kia Credit? Thanks.

I feel like I'm in the same position as you. $15.00 to some people isn't much, but when I'm leasing, I feel like literally every dollar counts. I would try and go for the 12k miles for free, but that's just my opinion. I've had horrible experiences with salesman, and have the general thought that these guys aren't my friends, and while they're acting like they are, they're doing everything in their power to screw me. I'm not saying this is a healthy train of thought (haha), but it's just how I generally feel.

Good luck with it!

First, I think the military rebate is $400 not $500 according to Kia's web site. The miles determines the residual percent which affects the monthly payment. If the dealer changed the miles it would come out of his profit. The deal looks pretty good to me.

Thank I Paul. Much appreciated.

Thanks much. Actually, what I would hate is to pick the car up and fine out 30 days later that the incentive was increased from $6,500 to $10,000 to make room for the ‘19s. Then again, they will probably only do that for cars already on the lot as u will only be able to “order” the ‘19 models in 30 days or so. I guess u can beat yourself up on this 16 ways from Sunday.

Is the payment with or without sales tax? I think it is a good deal but would offer same numbers with 12k miles.
Paul, what dealer r u with? Love to have a real quick conversation. Thanks. Tom

If the question is what dealer do I work for, then the answer is I don't work, I'm retired. If the question is where did I lease my Stinger, there's a write up in the dealer thread in this forum.

Hi,
I'm about to sign on a lease and I'm hoping someone can help me with this asap.
Just let me know if this is a good as I think it is.
I live in MD so I have to pay 6% on the entire price of the car.

GT1 with Drive Wise (MSRP 43,450)
36 months / 12k Miles
No money down
Tax/ Bank Fee/ DMV / Damage Waiver included

First month payment due at signing.

$569.23 out the door

I forget what they call it but when I was talking numbers about my lease, Kia had a rebate for owners or leases of BMW, Audi, and Benz to get a 1500-2500 rebate in order to get people to jump ship. I was lured into the dealership with an add that said $1000 down, $350 a month, 10k miles a year no other money down for a base model but then they said you only qualify for that if you own a BMW, Audi, or Benz. I was kinda pissed with how they advertised that deal.

Sounds good to me assuming your payment will be $569.23 which I believe is true due to you paying the 6% up front. I have the same car lease and mine is $600 due to adding a charge for a previous early lease termination. I also had tinted windows, pinstripe, mudguards and emergency kit. Just noticed your MSRP should have been over $46k if you have the Drive Wise package?

He mentioned in another thread the car is a GT, not a GT1 however, that price on KIAs site is for a GT w/AWD and Drive Wise, which would be at full MSRP and not that great a deal.

Correct GT with Drive wise.
I do not have to pay the 6% up front.
The $569 was including everything -the tax/fees/damage waiver.

Here's the kicker. When he sent me the term sheet it only showed a $5500 lease cash rebate.
I told them that on the KIA site it shows a $5800 lease cash and an additional $1000 AWD rebate.

He relied that they only go according to the KIA Matrix that is sent to the dealers. (I looked at the matrix and it did say $5500 and could not find the $1000 AWD)

How do I answer the guy? With the additional rebates, the price would drop to $520 a month everything included!

Thanks for your help.

I truthfully don't think that's a great deal for a GT. Buddy of mine was offered $550 sign and drive last month for a GT rolling in an additional $350 lease payment and the incentives have gone up. Without knowing the residual, MF, fees, and tax rates, my thought would be that you should be closer to the ~$500-520 mark.

With that said, I have no idea what this 6% extra fee you are talking about is. If you have to pay 6% of a car costing 40k, you are looking at ~$66.66 a month over 36 months which can drastically skew my numbers.

Here is the quote. If you add the actual rebate to the $5500 he has on there which would total $6800. My price would be $525 sign & drive.

Here are the numbers I worked out for getting a GT with Drive Wise for $39k (TruCar average). Am I doing this correctly?

Throwing it into leasehackr using numbers that I think are right (.00229 MF, 51% residual), you are right in saying the number would be ~$525 a month if they have the incentives correct. However, I am estimating that they are charging you about $38,750 for the car which is around ~8% off. You can probably negotiate that price down to about ~$38k to get a solid ~10% off the car, but the bigger deal is the incentives. Negotiating the car down to 38k would bring your payment to around ~$503 with the correct incentives, but the bigger drop regardless is making sure they do those incentives properly. Can you call another dealer in the area to see if they are honoring the 6800?

It really is up to you and what you want to do. I tend to be on the ultra conservative side because I feel like I get nothing for a lease at the end, so I tend to fight for every nickel I can possibly get. However, if you aren't as insane as I am and can live with paying $525 a month, just fight for the incentive and go from there.

You could always fight for the incentive, and when you get them down to 525, tell them 500 a month and you'll sign. They're going to tell you these cars are flying off the lots but they're not. Stand strong.

Thanks. I am going to do exactly what you advise.
Will call several dealers in the area and see if they will honor the incentives.
