So they reckon that it was just the screws holding the number plate on. Time will tell.

I have the 2.0 Base and also have noticed the rattling sound coming from the back. Haven't had time to search around for it yet.

So.. Turned the knobs counterclockwise (actually they separated from the hatch at some point) put them back in with half a twist clockwise and problem solved!!! Thanks!

So has the rattling issue been resolved? If yes, can we confirm where it came from?

Coming from another hatch-laden vehicle, I wonder about the stops that are on the sides, as I have this issue as well. I unscrewed the "dampers" but not as far as it sounds like some have. Hope to hear others' results!

Had the same problem - unscrew the dampers - Problem solved

Alert: if you unscrew them enough, when you do release the trunk it will make a "pop" when it comes loose. LOL That means you've unscrewed them too much!

I have the rattle issue too (only on very bumpy roads).
I will look into i when I find time but thanks for the forum members for explaining what fixed their issue.

My rattle remains and is very enoying. Very poor for a brand new car. Still no resolution from Kia consumer services. I asked for a replacement car and Karla of Kia Consumer services said no it was my problem as a consumer. Kia consure promised to repair the ratte with a special kit they stated was sent to the dealer on Monday last week the 18th of December 2017. Today is the 26th and my rattle persists and is not acceptable for a new car and the flagship new Kia car. I was kind enough to be very patient since purchase on this issue yet have received no resolution.

A brand new car that rattles? I guess this is the new standard. I will tell everyone at my work and all of my social media friends. They should buy the Kia Stinger. It drives great. Handles great. It rattles all the time yet it is worth it.

Its a slight rattle nothing to serious. That cracks me up....... A replacement car for a slight rattle........
