I have ratting in rear of car when the road is bumpy and the rear tyres go over the bumps and i can not find the rattle for the life of me. I checked that back seats are secure. I checked that seat bealts are secure.

If anyone has this issue and solves it please let me know how or what is causing the rattling in the rear. (Sounds like rear of car.)

I am in the 2.0 Base.

Thanks

I had the large metal tow hook floating around... check the spare tire area...

is it best described as a rattle or a creak? A few people have complained about creaking in the hatch and the fix was to tighten two rubber feet on the underside of the hatch. they have threaded adjustments. those rubber feet could be a turn or two loose. if so that will stop the creaking from happening.

It was not the spare tyre or tools. Let me check the hatch. Thanks

Rubber feet where not lose, so do not beleive this is the issue.

When you open the rear hatch, there are two adjustable bump stops on the left and the right of the hatch frame. Turn them counterclockwise a half turn and see if that gets rid of the rattle. It did for me but I had to turn them counterclockwise about 2 full turns before the rattle went away. The I turned them another 1/2 turn to set permanently.

Dealer got rid of the rattle that was occuring at low speed when going over a bumpy road/bumps. Thanks Kia. Good job. For interest it was not the two rubber cushioning knobs.

Definitely glad to hear Kia took good care of you. It would be great to know what the problem was so that other people can either fix it themselves or point it out at their local dealership if and when the time comes...

I have the same rattle too. It’s in for its 1500km service today and I told them about it so will see if they sort it.

Hey Skyguy, on a side point, why is your baby going in for a 1500km service?

It should be 3000km going buy my schedule?

So they reckon that it was just the screws holding the number plate on. Time will tell.
