Kia Stinger Buyers In The U.S. Got These Cool Headphones

You can't pair Bluetooth headphones to your car stereo. Think of it as trying to connect one speaker to another and wondering why there's no music playing...neither one is the source of the sound.

Also, driving with headphones on or earbuds in is an ill advised safety risk.
I understand the safety risk angle. But what you said about sourcing makes no sense. I have USB. The headphones won't pick up the sound system playing back the USB source. It isn't like two speakers connected to each other at all. Headphones are just another set of speakers. The USB, or any other source issuing from the sound system, ought to be picked up by whatever set of speakers you are using. There. That's my layman's logic!:cautious:

Mysterious little things. The "LED" light color (by the on/off toggle) indicates low battery, charging in progress or charging complete with either a slow on and off red light, a steady red light, or no light at all, respectively. I guess mine are fully charged already? I see no light, except the tiny triangular one pointing to the plugged in charging cord.
Not so mysterious after all: the red light referred to is the little triangular one by the charging cord hookup (pointing to it, in fact). It was steady red. And a little while later it was out. Obviously this coincides with the instructions. So if you see a little red light blinking on and off, your battery is getting low.

I got mine yesterday. Out of the blue, wasn't expecting anything. They are nice. Cool.

Too bad my car doesn't have the actual Harman Kardone stereo. Maybe I can wear these while I drive to listen to some quality sound! The factory stereo is pathetic. I thought I'd be okay with it, but it truly sucks.
If you're listening to SiriusXM - Yup....that crappy source will give you crappy sound, and Bluetooth isn't much better. Best to plug in USB directly from your phone so there isn't any audio compression added.

The manual in the box has a table ... too bad its unreadable!

I'm sorry Merlin, my explanation and analogy were poor. I'll try again.

Using your setup as the example, you have music stored on a USB source. The head unit in the Stinger reads the files off the USB source, translates the data into analog signals, which are sent to the speakers in the car. Another example to consider is changing the input source on the Stinger's head unit to Bluetooth. In this scenario, a Bluetooth connection is established as the input / source of the data, which is translated into an analog signal and sent to the speakers in the car.

What you are looking for is a way for the head unit in the Stinger treat the Bluetooth connection to a device (in this case the Bluetooth headphones) as an output rather than an input. This is not possible. Bluetooth devices paired with the Stinger can only be input / source devices (devices with stored music), not output devices (speakers & headphones primarily.)

A simpler way to look at it is - imagine plugging in wired headphones into the AUX IN port of the Stinger and wondering why you aren't hearing anything when the radio is on. That port is input only, not capable of outputting audio. The Bluetooth connection in the Stinger, for the sake of simplicity in the context of what you're asking about, works much the same way.

We actually did this, and discovered exactly what you said: input only. That was what gave us a clue. :P Oh, well. Thanks for the further explanations.

Nobody has mentioned the nifty little drawstring carry bag yet. Everything fits snuggly.

Nope you’re the only one to get them, you should feel special.

Picked up my Red GT2 on 6/26 and was surprised when the headphones were delivered 8/24. Took em out to take a listen and i’m sure its been said before, they seem to be rebranded JBL Duet NC headphones. The sound profile has a bit more bass than the Sony MDR-X1000’s I have now and are quite comfortable. They may become my new pair of office headphones.

I googled them and they came up at $250, nice gift.

Got mine today! Bought it on 5/18! They sound amazing I think.
Agree! I have mine on right now, listening to Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante In E Flat on my laptop. Excellent. Thanks, Kia! :D

They're here! Amazing! :D I was out on the front porch talking with my wife, and lo and behold a FedEx truck pulls up. And it can only be one thing. And he hands me my box of stuff. I didn't ever see a notice on my FedEx web account "warning" me that anything was on the way. Maybe Kia is too fast? I put in my request to not be forgotten on the list of early buyers, and got my case number, and was going to call again later today if I had no updated info joy: but before I could manage to plan, my headphones arrive. They are definitely the real deal. I won't bother to post any pics because that would be duplication of effort.

Now, the question: How do I make these things work in my car? I don't have a "real" smartphone. I have a ZTE Tracfone. It has Bluetooth or else I wouldn't be able to pair it with my car. But all I get when I turn the car on and my cell phone on and the headphones on is a flashing blue light by the On/Off button on the headphones, which means the headphones are pairing for the first time. Except, nothing happens.

???
Hang them on your jousting sticks ! Lol

They're hanging on my head. I don't mix my eras of interest (although some mad men are into jousting, again, after all these intervening centuries: but, as with drag racing, I won't be going there either!).
