How long has it been since you had all that replaced? Mine has been 2 months since all was replaced. It basically is starting over again. Drive for almost 2 months then sputtering and jerking, have problem fixed or at least I think so, then here we go again. They can’t get me in til Monday possibly, waiting on service manager to call me Monday morning to see then. Car will be kept in garage until then. Hope you don’t encounter the same issues. After they replaced my fuel pump and pull line, my car definitely drives better. Not sure how long it will last. I felt some mild jerking after the replacement but wasn’t sure if it was me being sensitive and having ptsd from my previous experience. I decided to drive it longer and see if I really have any issues. So far, I haven’t had any problems. As soon as I notice anything I will take it straight to the dealership. I think you should do the same. Perhaps you need the coil and spark plugs replaced. It has been a known issues with the stingers.
It is not your luck. A lot of owner have issues , and not just with Kia. I bought a Grand Cherokee SRT in 2015 60k and then transmission and engine failed at 5000k . Had to get rid of that one. The issue might be that the Stinger is a brand new car and are still working on perfecting its performance. They Cant really predict what would happen when they mass produced the stinger. There a difference between one car tested on a closed drive way versus mass production and world wide drivers . So hopefully you can take it in and they can fix it again, it’s under warranty .I have looked into the lemon law. So disappointed in the Stinger. Never would I have imagined the problems I’m guessing just my luck. I have owned 2 Optimas. My very 1st one, I drove off the lot with only 11 miles and at mile 54 a tree falls on us. After 2 years we traded for another Optima. 5 months before we traded for the Stinger, my engine failed due to the recall they had. So now to my luck, I’ve been able to drive my Stinger for 2 months before sputtering and jerking and to have it fixed and now almost 2 months later to have same issue. I think I’m being told to move on from Kia.
What kind of a swap or trade in would you get on a GT1 or 2? If you could get a MY18 the difference shouldn't be too much more. I love driving this car. I've never driven for the sheer fun of it till now.Thanks. My hubby really wanted the GT and I talked him out of it. Really regretting it now.
Did you have anymore issues. I bought my 2.0 Stinger in July. Drove it almost 2 months when mine started sputtering and stalling. I assumed I had got water in gas, but couldn’t understand why cause I always used premium. It also only did it after sitting for hours or overnight. So of course after driving for an hour to get to dealership and turning off the engine and them getting in it to test drive, they couldn’t find anything wrong. But after listening to our complaints decided to keep it over the weekend and drove it on Tuesday morning and they seen the trouble. So after replacing fuel injector, fuel pump, pressure hose and spark plugs, I finally get it back. I have once again driven for almost 2 months and leaving work today and pulling out on highway my car stalls and sputters, pulling off to get out of traffic I get back on road and my car jerks the entire mile home. So once again it goes back to dealer for sane issue. Any suggestions?
Mine has done that too, but it blows the engine within 50 miles after that starts. I only have 50,000 miles on it and I'm already on my 3rd engine. I take it in and they do a full engine swap. The first engine blew at about 7,000 miles, the second one blew at about 17,000 miles. With this third engine I have been constantly doing oil changes along with spark plugs cause they are scorched by 5,000 miles. It started doing that again last Friday and im having it towed into the dealership next Wednesday. I drive almost all freeway at 65 mph. There is no reason for this car to be doing this. I really love the car too, but I've never even felt confident enough to really test it out. I hear they can be a fun car though. For me i have to treat it like a granny carDid you have anymore issues. I bought my 2.0 Stinger in July. Drove it almost 2 months when mine started sputtering and stalling. What a sad introduction. Welcome, anyway, and I can hope that you get your engine demons sorted out so that you can WOT this car. From what I've read, the 2.0L is very peppy compared to most 4 cylinders: if everything is working, of course.A
