Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 1/4 Mile Times

I guess from mod stand point that would prove useful. I still wouldn’t want to see more than 10 in each category.

There is no easy solution there as to what is fastest overall, octane is also a factor. You will definitely want to evaluate the tuning under warmer weather also. Since the ECU is load based if not set properly the boost could climb much higher than expected as temperature does. Tuning is a multi-dimensional puzzle. :)

In terms of boost I'm not familiar with your logging tool, it may or may not be accurate in the logs, depending on the specific sensor being logged and whether it's zerod out for absolute boost numbers. What does the value read with the engine off, ignition on, for example?
The boost / vacume gauge is just the difference of absolute intake pressure minus barometric pressure (in psi) so it is "zeroed out".

Thanks for keeping an updated list!

Since so many runs are within 0.1 of each other why not make it top 5 for each group? I think it will help having more cars listed by showing what upgrades achieve better times.
Sounds good, ill expand back up to 5 for each on my next update.

Traction is definitely improved with the drag radials. It's going to take a 1.90 60' to get in the 11s I think at this power level. Will retest when the front rims show up.

That trap speed though! That's like 0.2mph faster than Tonkabob who might as well be in the 11s already

I had another run in the 118mph range too, but a little worse traction. With so few mods it's tricky to put it all together for that one magic 11s slip for sure. The track sort of sucks too, running up hill the first half, then ends at the same elevation as the start lol.

I'd live to see what it would do with downpipes and catback.

Still planning on leaving the exhaust stock?

I'm going to bolt on some primary cat deletes just for dyno testing and tuning in the future, so we'll evaluate to see if they do anything. :)

That trap speed is straight power . 118 MPH in the 1/4 on the street must feel awesome on the tip in/pass.

Technically speaking Tonkabob must be making more power if he's trapping about the same speed but with more drivetrain power loss

I wasn’t alluding to that he didn’t, he also has more mods, too (I think). I would assume the RWD still feels faster from the roll w/o that drivetrain loss.

He had a much larger slope on his back end and colder weather, I expect you'll see his traps drop back in to the 116mph range once slope is sorted. And I expect to see 119mph with ours soon. :)

This one looks nearly identical to yours for slope :)
Great run! I'll put you on the leader board tomorrow.
This is my slower run with nearly no net slope.
The second 1/8ths are nearly identical so probably making same power to the ground minus my 200 lb weight penalty.

Ah that's right, I forgot the whole discussion about dragy allowing slope as long as the start and finish are the same. Was your run with wmi and 93 oct?

WMI and 91 octane, a bit of residual E85 from the last tank but not much. With WMI octane isn't much of an issue.

The real challenge with RWD even with drag radials is still getting good traction when it's really cold out. Tried a run in 50F weather and was spin city. Let it warm up to 70F and traction was good enough for the 12.18. That's where a real track comes in handy with a prepared launch surface and potentially really cold weather. Unfortunately there are no good tracks close, Famoso is 2hrs away and rarely open anymore. We're taking some of the faster cars out next month though, maybe we'll get someone to bring the Stinger along. :)

Even with traction control off and in launch mode, I’m spinning so bad it’s killing the power. And I don’t even have a tune yet... the past two attempts resulted in a fall on the face...

Is there a way to completely kill the nannies for straight line runs? I’m definitely envious of the LSD in the 2019 GT1’s

Great improvement so far and nice to see you & JB4s are the 3rd quickest RWD Stingers.:D Even more impressive knowing your running a mild WMI setting and a DIY intake is your only supporting power mod!

Now only 0.01 for second and 0.2 for first!;) Bet warmer tires and good launch will get you that 0.01, but do you think the updated JB4 launch settings you mentioned will hit 1.9s 60fts? If so you may break into the 11s even with stock exhaust!

Congrats again on the new wheels and thanks for sharing the impressive numbers.
