At least someone seems to get it ......you seen in Tork statement is said i sadly have to use draggy results into the track is open.....they get it...they know what it takes they are going to hit the track and set records or break records......now not saying does not count but 1/4 is the way to go
I don't get it, it seems silly to use the dragy, but... I have conformed to its use and folded into the community embracing its use.

Angel, we will use the track also... but lets be honest. Dragy is a useful tool for those who do not have access to a drag strip. More agree than dissagree with this, so assimilate into the community and agree tonits use, or contiune to be riduculed for your opinion about it.

Thank you Sir I totally agree with you....I dont think Draggy is useless or bad and it can be a great tool......but my passion for cars and being a car guy i hate the fact that people seem to put draggy results over or just as valid 1/4 track results... i am young but i am also old school.....all the car guys i know and the real tunning companies i know that set records or broke records were done at the drag strip....you say something about draggy all these people go bat shit crazy lol....Tonkabob set the time for fastest AWD on draggy and somehow Terry found the results not consistent when he has been a strong advocate for draggy ...slope this slope that WTF.....thats why i say hit the dawn strip and when people see the results they cant say shit ......its funny how people ridicule a statement that i thought was the industry standard to test your car performance hit the strip ...simple as that.....

its funny how people ridicule a statement

*deep breath *

No one ridiculed your statement. We hit the "disagree" button and you lost your shit and attacked us.

Dialogue with you is pointless. You have an understanding problem. I give up.

Are you going out some time this week to test the new tune?

when car manufacturer post there results they dont use draggy dude they take there car to the track.....thats a fact not my opinion lol

False. One of the benchmarks in any community is car and driver and they use a GPS device just like Dragy (well, much better than Dragy, but same concept). How Does C/D Test Cars?

Negative those are car reviews by independent companies...car manufacturer actually test there cars in actual physical road courses... and strips to get there performance times.....Car and driver are not car manufacturer FYI i didnt know if you knew that but i figured i would state the obvious

Please stop. Please.

Everyone just stop interacting with the guy. If you can't tell it's not going to anywhere by now, start a conversation with him outside the thread.

Agreed.

Back to the battle of "Am I Keeping My JB4 or Is My Wife Getting Me an ECU Tune For Christmas".

I'm seriously wrestling with this. She told me to just get whatever I want and consider it a gift from her. I half jokingly (gotta test the waters) told her I'm going to spend $1900 on a tune and spare ECU and she didn't even argue. But now that Terry is nearing the 11s I'm lost as to which is the best way to go.

If Tork messes around and gets deep into the 11s (even with a Dragy) I might have to sell the ole JB4.

The 1/4 mile results over the next few weeks will play a huge role in the direction I take my car.

Now there is some throw down competition! :). Do you plan on going wmi? That should be a big factor since you may need that to hit 11s with jb4. I want to run 11s on every pass, have it daily driver comfortable and not have to fill a NOS or alcohol bottle. I would be ok with octane boost for our mediocre 92 but thats it. Im Lazy. After my tune is done i really dont even want to log or use an app.

I think I'm done with mods, other than tuning. Right now I have DPs, intake, and catback. I don't even like bothering with mixing 93 and e85, let alone WMI or octane boost.

I forgot Tork is about to mess with WMI too. Hopefully they both also post times with just pump gas alone as well. Best performance on pump gas wins the day for me.

Just tested map2 (JB4) and reduced boost in 1st gear, and dropped .7 seconds back off my wheel spin for 4.07 0-60, and not the best launch, still spun on the shift.

Carrying 4 passengers, 15lbs of bacon and about 30 more pounds of miscellaneous crap, and 1/2 tank of gas...... not bad, not bad at all.

That's where I'm at too. Intakes/Muffler Delete and I'm out. Just want a fast comfy DD I don't have to fuss about.

I really need to mess with the boost by gear. I keep forgetting about it. And since I'm being cheap I have to use my laptop to make those kinds of changes.

15lbs of bacon, you say? Interesting night planned?

If you could get a Stinger or G70 into the 11's on pump 93 octane, I'd be a customer. Amazing how fast even relatively cheap cars can be these days. It wasn't very long ago that anything this fast was in the 6 figures range and a supercar with limited production. I'll be curious to see where folks start hitting the design limits of the bottom end and/or the transmission. I suspect the latter could be an issue based on the aggressive timing pulls during shifts.

Cheers!

Tork has done it two cars and 92 octane.

Why would what times I or Tork run with our development cars determine what tuning you run on yours?

Get a dragy and see how you're running. If it's too slow for your liking ask us how you can make it faster or if you're bored switch up the tuning.

As has been mentioned before anyone with a flash map will still find the JB4 useful for logging and fine tuning, you may want to hang on to it either way.

Is that a trick question?

That's got to be a trick question.

I am going to attempt to stay on stock wheels and tires for now.

That will last maybe one attempt before you decide you're completely wasting your time. You can make it work good enough on a well prepped track but on a dusty "private track" with no prep and colder weather, forget it. If drag performance is the goal get some 18" NT05Rs. I went with the more streetable 555Rs just because I had a used set in the garage already. On fresh NT05Rs our car would have easily run 11.90 already.

Haha, nope. Just like bacon...
is this what you trunk looked like? I am sure if you drop all the bacon you can the first stinger to reach the 10's
